Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Outer Worlds out on Switch June 5th, digitally and physically

Originally set to come out in March as a digital only release, The Outer Worlds was delayed on Switch when the porting studio, Virtuos, located in China, was closed temporarily due to the COVID-19 outbreak there.

It now has a new date, and will include a physical version.

An actual nice date. There shouldn't be too much in the way .... (Except Xenoblade DE 2nd week)

They already confirmed several GBs as day 1 download, so a pseudo-physical release it is.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

I was just reading that on Obsidian's website, but it sounds like it's just a patch to improve performance and a hi-res texture pack, so it sounds like the game is playable without it rather than half the game being on the card and a download being mandatory to play it at all.

Also, they say it'll be around 6GB which isn't that bad.

Day one physical. As long as it can run without the patch, which it sounds like it will, it still holds value to me physically.
