You are on a sales website, so you should know why Nintendo doesn't do it.
Probably think its a waste of money at this point.
Switch selling fine enough.... their probably more concerned about working on a Switch 2 now, instead?
I still think its a missed oppertunity, to potentially sell additional switch hardware.
I guess it depends on how close nintendo is to releaseing a Switch 2.
If thats still far off, a console version of the current switch could make alot of sense.
If its not, not so much.
Exactly, it's a waste of money when the current SKUs continue to sell so well. Price cuts and revisions are done to stimulate sales, after all.
Switch 2 is many years away, so it has nothing to do with Nintendo not releasing another Switch SKU. You have to remember that almost every successful Nintendo console had at least six years on the market before a successor was launched; Switch only turned three years old earlier this month. The only exception is the GBA because Sony's launch timing for the PSP was bound to be out of sync with the typical lifecycle for a successful Nintendo console, so Nintendo opted to not give Sony a big headstart for the following generation of hardware. Such a scenario is completely unrealistic to occur for Switch because we know what Sony and Microsoft will do and we also know that there's no new entrant to the console business, that's why Switch 2 isn't happening anytime soon.
