Forums - Sony Discussion - PS5 indeed will run PS4 games more than 100 titles up to 4000 title plus enhancemnet with better resolution, or frame rates (possibly better loading time or maybe some graphic visual enhancement)

more you can read at https://blog.us.playstation.com/2020/03/18/unveiling-new-details-of-playstation-5-hardware-technical-specs/

and https://www.vgchartz.com/article/442838/sony-overwhelming-majority-of-ps4-games-will-be-playable-on-ps5/

I think indeed when it comes to communication and Marketing Sony is a little bit behind compared to when they announce PS4 back in 2013, probably because they just recently changing their company structure and many policy has change.

This is good news. We want more companies to support the BC programs so instead of getting remasters like GoW3 which offered barely any changes and charging full price, this will push devs to stay away from trying to double dip their customers.

Simple updates to games that are free is what we want, not remasters that offer little differences and expect gamers to pay again for what they already own.

This is essentially where Ms was in 2015, where they did a steady stream of adding titles to the BC list after the initial batch.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I wonder what crazy new technology they utilized to achieve this innovation in gaming.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Yes it really seems like and after though, snore...
Seems like PS5 will be day one even if not much exclusives launch together as the backlog will transfer easily and improved.

They included the logic of PS4 inside the chip of PS5.

Good. Maybe I won’t even try installing GoW, Days Gone, and Death Stranding again on my PS4 and will just wait until I eventually buy a PS5.

Though I don’t feel great about all the potential maybe messaging in that update.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

If you aren't joking how SSD is the one that allow BC?

It's writen in the OP almost all 4000 titles will work.

It has nothing to do with how MS handled it back then, its how they are handling it now.

It's full BC from the get go (regarding last gen).

The only part about the 100 is that from the top 100 played on boosted mode almost all were already working.

So the most comparison to 2015 MS that could be done is that the performance boost may be limited to a selection of games at launch.
