Yes let`s accuse Sony fans of downplaying the GPU difference and using SSD as secret sauce, then let`s ignore all the devs that asked for SSD as top priority over GPU and CPU specs, that said it will revolution game design, and double speed and think we aren`t downplaying PS5 advantage.

Yes, let's. Because it's the right thing to do.

How often did people downplay the MS secret sauce. This time the XsX has clearly beaten the PS5 in terms of hardware, yet here you are pretending like there is a case for the SSD as being a big deal when it isn't. Just stop.

Neither me nor pi-guy is pretending anything. You are the one behaving very poorly here. Have he or me denied XSX is more powerful? Nope. But you are denying that SSD will revolution game design, even when the post you tried to use as evidence say it will. Pretend all you want, you are not the one on the right.

I said, since the beginning, that an SSD is an obvious upgrade in 2020. I said, again, that there is parity on that front for the PS5 and the XsX.

What are you trying to say anyways, that the SSD was a shock to you? It was a very requested feature because it was a bottleneck and was very late to arrive. Of course it's very requested by devs and gamers.

I'm not behaving poorly, I just am fed up of the nonesense. At one point, PS fans pretend like power is everything, starting with the DVD in the PS2, the blue ray in the PS3, the cell processor, then now that the XsX is showing to be more capable, saying that specs don't matter.

And then they're not sure if it's worth focusing on the spec war, start praising the... SSD?

Aren't we done with this?

padip why are you even surprised? i mean after awhile you should know which faces have a certain pov implied

I'm really not surprised. I just want it to stop. We've been on this forum for years, can't we have a bit of objectivity?

It being obvious is irrelevant. And increase in GPU and CPU power was also obvious so? And no there isn`t any parity. Both agree on parity for 3rd parties to work, that they would work similarly for them. Just as GPU and CPU will work similarly, so?

You are time and again saying it won`t revolution gaming design, will you accept the evidence you posted yourself or not?

You may be fed up all you want that is your problem and don`t excuse your own behavior using nameless "PS fans".

If you are done with it why are you here complaining about it and trying to diminish SSD specs while at the same time praising the GPU gap?

Okay I'll say it: the SSD doesn't revolutionize game design. It has existed for years in the gaming world. PCs have had it for almost 10 years now.

Considering most consoles and PCs have HDDs, games can't be designed to take advantage of SSDs.

There's pretty much only one game that really needs an SSD.  That might change with both consoles having SSD as being a mandatory part.

Most PCs today have SSDs, not HDDs.

FWIW, from 2013.

An old known trick to easily improve a PC's performance, which most admins do today and have been doing for a while. Posted in 2018:

The vast majority of consoles which a lot of games have to run on, do not.
