Forums - Gaming Discussion - Warner Bros planned to do their 1st ever E3 conference to announce Batman, Harry Potter, and Rocksteady's game and more, before E3 cancellation

Wonder what they will do now. Their own digital event, or will they split their announces between Microsoft's digital show and Sony's digital show, depending on which of the two got marketing rights to which games?

I personally hope that MS got marketing on that AAA Harry Potter RPG with a reveal on Microsoft's show, I'm super interested in that game.

Who cares who got what marketing rights?

They'll probably just go digital themselves.

I do. Sometimes MS and Sony do custom consoles and/or controllers for 3rd party marketing deal games. Sometimes Sony gets some form of exclusive DLC as well. That is why I'd rather MS get the marketing rights for Harry Potter, I want to play that game and I plan to buy Xbox Series before PS5, and I might just get a Harry Potter limited edition Xbox Series console if they make one.

An LE XSX HP theme could be sweet

I'm wondering what is WB going to do with the Harry Potter franchise gaming-wise. The last thing I've heard about that series was the mobile game that strangled the main characters to get ransom microtransactions.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Well there was that leaked footage a while back of a seemingly next gen Harry Potter game. It actually looked pretty decent. I can't wait to see what they do with it.

They have Avalanche Software (a former Disney Interactive studio that WB acquired in 2017) working on a AAA Harry Potter RPG, been in development for a few years now. Early footage leaked in October 2018, about a year after it began development:

It is supposedly set in the late 1800's (before even the first Fantastic Beasts movie), probably around the time that Albus Dumbledore was a student at Hogwarts, when either Eupraxia Mole or Phineas Nigellus Black was headmaster of Hogwarts. You supposedly play as a 5th year Hogwarts student, and get to choose from one of 8 wizard types (classes), your house, your moral alignment, and design your character with a pretty detailed character creator. Open world map that includes Hogwarts, the school grounds, the Forbidden Forest, and Hogsmeade. The plot supposedly revolves around the player character, who has latent magical ability that didn't manifest until you were already a teenager, being a late acceptance into Hogwarts as a 5th year student, and getting wrapped up in a mystery that involves helping one of your professors (probably your Defense Against the Dark Arts professor), Elezar Fig, to investigate a mystery within the Forbidden Forest. Rumored to either be crossgen or next-gen only, with a late 2020 or early 2021 release.

They could always try an online presentation like Nintendo Direct.
