No - in financial presentations, they use round numbers. So when AMD says 150+ million combined, that means it is OVER 150 million but BELOW 160 million. So with 109 million confirmed PS4's, that leaves Microsoft wiggle room of anywhere from ~42 million to ~51 million units shipped.

What stops them from saying 155m+ then? I still think that xbox is over tracked

155 is far too precise to be an estimate. You could say for example 100+ million or 150+ million or 200+ million, so there's much more wiggle room if they are not certain of the numbers.

Bear in mind AMD has no idea how many GPUs have been used for replacement consoles, Microsoft doesn't give numbers, so the estimate has to have a lot of wiggle room. Example, if you have a console that breaks and you return it for a replacement, it still counts as 1 console sold, not 2. Even tough AMS sold 2 GPUs to Microsoft/Sony.

A lot of people across the gaming internet gonna miss the + part lol. Safe to say XB1 will finish the gen at 50 mil.

Not terrible and could have went far worse. And hey it didn’t get last place (looking at you WiiU). I’m a optimist :)

If you're going to count wiiU then also count the switch against next gen consoles, that would put Microsoft automatically last place for next gen, no way they could ever catch up to switch which will have at least 60 million already sold by the time xbox series X lands. Or you could say the switch is part of current gen, as its likely Nintendo will make a switch 2 in the next 3 years. And it would mean Microsoft came last this gen. Either way, Nintendo wins.

That’s weird. I’m comparing individual consoles. Switch isnt the big brother who comes in to stop the bullies from picking on it’s brother. WiiU just didn’t pan out, no shame to admit that. I have nothing against Nintendo bud. I get you defending the brand, believe me I know, but you got me all wrong.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

AMD numbers are accurate.

150+ million chip is 151 million maximum, because in the same conference,

AMD mentioned that the Ryzen processor 2017-2019 cumulative shipments is 97 million.

23 million, 31 million, 43 million, 2018, 2019 growth rate of 35%, 39%!

Very accurate numbers.

So today, we finally know the exact numbers of all consoles:

PS4 Shipped: 111 million ( 109 dicembre and propable others 2 million in 2020.

Xbox one Shipped: 40 million ( february 2020).

The funniest part of this thread is that AMD used VGChartz for that number, lol.

This thread has been a great read of people taking the numbers as AMD's official sales and comparing them to VGC when they are sourced from VGC lol. All AMD have done is take the 107 + 46 from here and put 150m+ on their slide most likely as to not reveal exact sales number of other companies.

ZhugeEx's word is usually taken as gospel around here so overall Xbox One if anything is slightly under tracked here.

Again, that is just not a "nice" number for a financial analyst. Once you get to certain thresholds, like 100 million, then you only report in big round numbers like 10, 20, 30 - unless you really need show progress or something (like, at the last milestone you said 130 million, and now it's three months later and you are only at 136, then you say 135+ so it still looks good).

Like I said, Xbox could be anywhere from 42 to 51 million. I bet VG Chartz is actually really close.

I really don't understand your logic. It's not about having a nice number. Do u think AMD will ignore hundreds of millions of sales from the range you propsed in a financial report to have a nice number?

The way I look at it is the + sign is a very close number to reported number. So at minimum it would be 151m and max would be 154m, otherwise, they could say 155m+.

Besed on max number, xbox sold to consumer would be estimated around 41-42 Million's.

It all sounds like wishful thinking rather than rational analysis. Keep dreaming.

You guys hopefully do know that they used our numbers for that?

So you are arguing about our numbers being wrong when our numbers have been used???

Can you please point us to source of information?

Man the anti-xbox bias is strong here Lmao
