Forums - Website Topics - Vgchartz tools not working

It seems the items in the Tools tab on this site, namely "Hardware by Date" and "Hardware Year-on-Year" are not working. Anyone else noticing this? I can't get it to come up on PC or mobile.

One thing that works like a swiss watch on this site are the ads. Never fails to work the ads

I temporarily disabled ads for this site. I don't feel too bad because I browse on my phone a lot and don't have them disabled there.

But yeah, very aggressive ads on this site. It reminds me of the first website I created that I put ads on. I got a little out of control and eventually realized that the income from ads is so low anyways that it wasn't worth making my site look like crap. I'm no expert, but I can't imagine that the ads bring in much more than a few hundred dollars a month.

It was working on and off for me, too. It's up now, like TalonMan said.

My problem is that, for quite some time now, I've been unable to click on a system's name on the little bar underneath the charts, because a previous update cause them and the little timeline slider to overlap. You used to be able to click on a system's name to toggle its sales line on and off in the chart, but I can't do that anymore. The time slider is itself buggy, as it doesn't zoom in accurately. What you see in the slider isn't what you get on the chart.

Same problems for me, both on Chrome and Opera.

We are in the middle of switching the site from HTTP to HTTPS to make the website more secure and to improve the SEO to help the site appear higher in Google searches. That is the reason for the Tools breaking. There is a lot to go through for those working on it, so it might be a little while before they are working again.

Most things work fine, but I noticed a bug in a thing that worked totally fine before: in the HW comparison tool, the NS sales numbers don't pop up anymone, look at this screenshot (tried on different weeks and on different time windows)

If useful, SW and HW info:

Browser: Firefox
OS: Xubuntu 18.04 LTS 64bit regularly patched
HW: HP-Compaq 6715s (Turion64 CPU and Radeon Xpress 1250 GPU)

Couldn't test on my desktop too, still rebuilding it as with this pandemic some components, including the new mobo, took more than one month to arrive.

It is an odd bug. It works fine for Talon in Chrome on his Mac, but doesn't work in Chrome for me on Windows 10. To have Switch appear click on PSV. It will remove PS Vita from the list and the Switch will appear.

Nice, thanks, it worked. Odd bug indeed, even funny considering I'm not the one trying to fix it.

My best guess is if Talon can make the graph a bit taller the Switch will appear again without having to untick the PS Vita.

Yeah, it only shows 4 consoles at any given data point, and always the 4 oldest being tracked, even when there could be 6-7 available, like during cross-gen periods.

The other question here is, why is the Vita still getting a line in the graph when VGC has stopped tracking it?  All other legacy consoles have their lines end once tracking stops.
