He may have interest in it, but probably will use the budget in effects and at most will achieve 4k120fps. But I would like they offer option for 8k60fps as well. It is more probable that whenever I change my TV I get 8k60fps monitor than 4k120fps (because for 4k res my TV is already enough for me.

Remember not to simply copy/paste the full article. Bits and pieces with the source is sufficient.

I appreciate your attention, but you changed the title so far from the point of the article. You should let leave the 240 hz or change to "prioritizing frame rates greater than 60 fps ".

The 240Hz bit was a little misleading, as he never said he was targeting that. He’d like to raise it to 120 ‘or even 240’, but similar things have been said of GT before. Best to focus on the entirety of an article in your thread titles with accurate info and that’s one of the reasons the reminder exists.

I guess there's hope for psvr in that case, targeting higher frame rates will make that more achievable. However he also said:
“Once we get to dual 8Ks, it’ll be pretty nice,” he said. “Dual 8K and about a 200Hz refresh rate. Maybe in another 50 years?”

My 4K HDR tv doesn't go over 60 fps input wise and it's too soon to buy another one again. Small chance a firmware update can add 120 hz input, no idea. It doesn't really matter anyway since the real bottleneck is the internet. GT Sport on the American server puts people 9,000 km apart together. From Canada to Brazil (where GT Sport is very popular) has default 166ms ping time (global ping statistics Toronto to Brasilia). Then you get consumer (isp to home) internet lag on top of that. So reducing the render time by 8 ms isn't going to do one bit for sport mode. Well I guess it's a reduction by 16ms since the transmission and display side will be faster as well.

Anyway a stable frame rate with stable input lag is all you need. You simply get used to where to brake and when to turn in, as long as it's constant and below 100ms total it doesn't matter what it really is. I've only had trouble in NFS Shift 2 where the input lag was 120ms. The fast cars became too difficult to keep straight. Perhaps the silly twitchy cars like SRT Tomahawk will be easier to drive at 120 fps. Racing is mostly anticipating and reading the moves of other cars well before they happen. If you drive like a twitch shooter you won't get far. Improving the forward prediction to compensate lag variance will improve sport mode 10x more than doubling the frame rate.

4K 120 fps is the dream but 60 fps is probably the reality :D

4K/60fps with better physics, better collision system and damage simulation, more realistic car handling depending on surface conditions, and far better AI. Graphics will be much better, that is natural. And please let's put some emphasis on the amount of Contents !

GTS has a a lot of content. What are you talking about?

Or 4K with VRR (60-90 fps/Hz)

Ideally, Gran Turismo PS5 would deliver options to suit those that want, Resolution, Frame Rate, and Virtual Reality.

1080p/120 High Frame Rate Mode
4K/60 Image Quality Mode
1440/120 in VR Mode

I think this is the best way forward, to make the most consumers happy.

Personally, I am only interested in VR going forward, as no amount of resolution and frame rate can compete with the the real experience of having full control over your head and eyes, or the true scale of the track or sense of speed, but I know there are many that will never be comfortable putting a headset on, and they should have options as well.

I don't believe people actually expect AAA games to be 8K... that's bananas.
I also don't believe a single AAA game will be over 4K60fps, I actually expect some to struggle with it and stick with 4K30fps to focus on graphics, as it has always been.
120fps only if its PS4 GT Sport, not GT7, I guarantee it.

Spoiler alert. Most games built for next systems will focus on graphics and not even achieve native 4k.
