I understand why people get excited about the size file but let's not get too ahead of ourselves here. This is still 100 GB without patch so I can safely assume Sqaure Enix does the bare minimum in optimization here :P

Why do you care ? You don't have a PS4

That's pretty unnecessary. You can take an interest in the subject without owning a particular system.

Seems as though a lot of the world, textures, sounds and effects that will later be used may end up being on this first instalment.

100gb for just the first instalment with no additional patches? Something seems up.

Hopefully I'm wrong and it's legitimately a full game in size and scope.

Thanks for the support 😀

Anyway, we're talking about a game that would single handheldy take up 10%-15% of any 1TB PS4 model while the 500GB model gets it even worse.

Not like there's no way to circumvent this issue but at this rate, internal storage capacity has become more and more meaningless because of devs not making an actual effort to downsize their files to accomodate with the limited capacity of console.

And you know that how exactly ? You are a developper ? You're an inside source ?

Many devs are probably actually trying to "effort" to downsize their files. They know better. When you see 4K movies are 50Go or 100Go, it's not hard to understand the size of a game with many 4K cinematic in it.

Some people need to stop dissing developpers without knowing anything about their work.

the beliefs that the game is lacking optimization is untrue.

Where does all that data come from? HD textures?

Don’t care. I have a 4TB hard drive.

Love the games with a lot of details!!

I have a 10TB Hard Drive and it's only got 30% space left.

That's a lot of TBs. All games? Any movies or something?
