Do we know if Switch production has resumed in China or are factories still shut down??

Considering schools are closed in Wuhan through March 1st already with high chance of an extension of that and the fact that in many towns and cities only one person per household may leave their home once during a two-day period (and the cities looking like ghost towns in result), I doubt that there would be many workers even if the factories were open again.

Wuhan has the most strict lock down cause that's where it started and has the highest number. Other cities don't have it as bad.

If Nintendo moved some of its production out of China to Taiwan and Vietnam last June over the proposed US tariffs, they should probably be looking at doing so again now. They'll inevitably take a hit anyway, but hopefully they're taking measures to soften the blow; it could be some time before COVID-19 is brought under control.

  • This week Software is below last year's level, mainly due to stronger sales by the big January release New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe last year.
  • Ring Fit Adventure and Pokemon Sword / Shield are two of the main software and hardware drivers this early in the year
  • Animal Crossing pre-orders have greatly increased Hardware Sales but due to Corona Virus in Asia, expecting next week to be down substantially in terms of hardware
  • Software will be up WoW due to the first major 3rd party release of the year

Base Switch nearly 4:1 over the Lite; really goes to show that "Japan only cares for handhelds" is an oversimplification.

eeeh after the new revision of the base switch came with a MUCH better battery, it isn't that simple. For BoTW, OG lasts 3, lite lasts 4, and V2 lasts 5 and a half....

It didn't come with a better battery. It came with a more efficient chipset. The old one was fab on 20 nm the new on 16 so Nintendo could choose more power or more battery life. Nintendo chose battery. The lite uses the same but has a smaller battery.

Exactly. I was one of them thinking the Lite would be like half of the sales.

This situation really shows that Nintendo cannot left the home console market and that the hybrid option is really the best way. Shows that they will definitely  do a "Switch 2" next gen, and i'm thinking that's why they are keeping the Switch low in OS options so they can bring more stuff as an argument.

they can gothe mid gen refresh route and go PRO right after ps5 release, securing 1080p 60 for games that couldn't on the original.

We are in this awkward transition period where 2/3 of the games on the chart are Switch, but most of the newer releases are for PS4. I can only suspect that a lot of Switch games are in development right now, but they are still taking time to be released.
