This isnt what op asking. Hes saying nintendo might delay next direct to steal sonys thunder.

Yeah I know that.  I am saying Nintendo does not give enough shits about what Sony is doing to bother, nor do they need to.

Why wouldnt nintendo give a shit? Are you trying to say nintendo doing a direct after sony wont put a dent on sonys ps5 direct

Why would it?  The Switch is out, and does not have that new console hype.  Much like how a PS5 "direct" would do nothing to stop the momentum of the Switch, a Nintendo direct would do equally as little to derail the PS5.  There is literally no logical motive for Nintendo to care about what Sony is doing right now when it comes to planning a direct.

Ok you should have said this in your first post. Op asked if nintendo trying to steal sonys thunder by having a direct after sony. He didnt say anything about sony having a direct after nintendo could put a dent on the switch

It's possible. Nintendo could be waiting to see what Sony has to announce and that will then determine if Nintendo announces/confirms their big holiday title for 2020 in their upcoming Direct or waits until E3 to do so. But one conditional announcement like that is about the only thing I can think of.

It's a lot more likely that Nintendo isn't waiting for Sony, because the PS5 launch is still a long time away, providing plenty of other opportunities to drive the point home that Switch is the console where you can already play lots of high profile exclusives while the PS5 and XSX will make people wait until a substantial game library is available.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

Why is this thread still going?

Someone already posted "/thread" on the first page. By the rules of the internet, created by the guardians of the internet, who were endorsed by the Galactic Patrol, who were created by the third male Doctor, who was set in his position of power by He Who Must Not Be Named and Rey Palpatine's offspring, there should be no more talking in this thread. Tom Palpatine has spoken.

Yeah. We're getting a direct due to nintendo's schedule and nothing else.

Yeah, I really don't know what the thread is for, Nintendo announced their Blue Ocean strategy how many years ago?
Clearly with Switch they really are in deep Blue Ocean, they are not same markets, either somebody has both or one or the other,
Nintendo has just announced how basically they expect to drag out Switch "generation" as long as possible so it's not like they would
be launching new gen immediately that could somehow compete in immediate term for consumer console budget, there is no relation.

About the only connection might be Sony's poll asking about remote play on other platforms like Switch, but doesn't seem like that's OP angle.
(which would be a cooperative thing between the two companies, if that wasn't clear)

Why would they do that? Im pretty sure they just need more time finalise stuff espcially regarding Animal Crossing.
