I never said streaming nor digital download are bad. The subs based model are bad for game developer and publisher, and that are told by many Game Developer . I just forwarding their message.

Interesting considering the subscription model is profitable in the music and tv industry. Please if you can explain the difference.

As far as gaming goes, many indie devs praise Game Pass. It’s easy access for many who wouldn’t buy the game unless it was on sale. Never mind launch. And GP users tell their non GP buddies and devs report more overall sales too.

Aren't music artist constantly complayning that spotify and the like are not paying enough?

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I don't see how Xbox wins this gen if their presence worldwide is nonexistent. I can see MS winning NA/UK, bringing in more revenue/profit, with lifetime sales around 60 - 70 Million.

Despite the PS4 outselling XOne nearly 3:1 worldwide, outselling the Xbox at the same price in many regions/countries, being available where Xbox isn't even stocked, sales have been relatively close in NA. Lockhart is an interesting scenario as a cheap barrier of entry, with it rumored to be stronger than previously anticipated, especially if cheap deals for Games Pass are offered again. It will be interesting to see what XGS studio produces. That will be key for MS in the streaming era and a big deciding factor for gamers outside their ecosystem.

Lol ya I guess they are. But they have concerts and ads, plenty ways to also make a buck. Game Pass at least at the moment, is extremely good for smaller developers.

I believe the CEO of Double Fine said something along the lines of joining MS would be good because Psychonauts 2 can reach a wide audience day 1 on GP. It’s a niche game and even its prequel didn’t sell enough back in the day.

I saw a Rolling Stones article recently that said they’re making more than ever off of streaming services. Either way, some complaining that it’s not enough doesn’t mean it actually isn’t. Just shows some are greedier than others.

EA just said there’s not much room for software on Switch outside of Nintendo titles. Does that make it fact that third parties can’t sell viable software on Switch? No, it means one publisher wants more than they currently get.

It can’t even be a discussion for television/movie content. Instead of just normal syndication revenue, they get that plus tons of money from these streaming services who bid for exclusive rights.

So this article basically says nothing except that the chance for Xbox doing something is higher than absolute zero. Cool journalism, bro.

The new Xbox could be twice as powerful and half as expensive as the PS5 and it would still struggle. Mainly because the people in charge of making Xbox a strong brand really do not give a fuck.

2013 called it wants your opinion back. Xbox has plenty 1st party games releasing this year alone. It’s acquisitions are starting to pay off

2016 called and wants your misguided optimism back.

Sure, many people are always complaining that they don't make enough money.

What we hear is that spotify, youtube and netflix aren't profitable ventures.

It's stupid to count anyone out. At the same time is Forbes hired by MS to make a million fluff pieces?

Individual contributor, not really someone working for Forbes paid by MS.
