Forums - Gaming Discussion - This gen's almost over!...So what is your favorite new IP?

As this gen is coming to a close I'd like to know what's your favorite IP this gen?

Mine is Horizon Zero Dawn. This game was just beautiful, great story and extremely fun to play.  Can't wait for the sequel!

However you want to draw the line between what's counts for this gen for Nintendo systems that's all up to you :)

Ori.

One of the most beautiful 2D games I ever played.

Spiderman PS4 counts ?

Is Spider-Man a new IP?

Real new is Horizon Zero Dawn.
God of War is the best game of the gen and is so different than the previous that basically feels like a new IP, and SpiderMan is probably the most fun game of the gen but the IP is old as fuck (well the game is the first one at least).

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Does Bloodborne count?

Depends whether you're including Wii U or Switch in "this gen" you're referring to.

If Wii U, then Splatoon.

Such a Fresh (har har) experience from its elegant and wonderfully kinetic gameplay, to its post-apocalyptic-ruin-meets-colourful-skater-pop style, to its memorable off-beat characters, it's just brimming with charm and feels incredible to play.

New game series 😂 based on a comic character

Spider-Man (PS4) isn't a new IP.

I'm counting Switch as already next gen. So in that case I'd choose Undertale for generation 8.

Toss it between Bravely Default or Octopath Traveler.
These 2 games are the Final Fantasy games I wanted since I played FFX

Love your choices but not sure how you draw the line for what's considered for this gen.  Are 3DS and Switch games in the same gen?  But if you feel they are then that's cool too :)

I can't think of many games that feel as rewarding as Celeste. It's one of the most difficult games I've ever played but it manages to never feel unfair due to its tight controls and excellent level design.
