First person in Europe has died today. An 80-years old Chinese tourist in France. Not a surprise that this would happen, though.

And the situation on the cruise ship Diamond Princess is getting out of hand. 10% of the people are diagnosed as of now.

It really was a genius who came up with the idea to quaranteen the folks in their cabins all day. Air conditioning will take care of everyone eventually.........

And then when the quarantine ends? Have some more quarantine! Hence why the US citizens on board are not happy about the plan to repatriate the healthy looking ones on commercial flights (healthy looking doesn't necessarily mean healthy, but untested. Sick people have to stay in Japan) and end up in quarantine again - or have to stay for two more weeks in Japan before being able to go home again.

Oh, and the crew wasn't quarantined yet - they get their quarantine once the boat is empty. But by then they are probably infected themselves...

At least most of the Americans on that cruise ship are old and retired. So they don't have to worry about getting back to work.

Only cruises that have young families are the cheap Caribbean cruises. I went on an Alaskan cruise with family about 15 years ago and 90 percent of people on that ship were 60 plus.

Only problem I see is they can't play shuffle board on the deck.

this may sound cold, but that's how quarantine works - the people are in there to protect the outside world and not to protect them

quarantining 3000-4000 ppl individually on short notice is just not feasible

Sometimes its just funnier to see the world burn... definitely didn't see this one coming

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Actually the up to 24 day incubation period is from a news article on 微信 WeChat put out by the government over here. Not sure how thats clickbait.

From the Chinese government?

Hmm.. Not like them to mislead with information about the coronavirus...

Still in that 2.2ish% lethality range.

I'd take it on at those odds.
