We finally got Famitsu numbers for week 1 & 2.

Week 1
Switch - 284.827
PS4 - 58.244
3DS - 4,030
XBO - 112

Week 2
Switch - 116.301
PS4 - 7.359
3DS - 943
XBO - 133

wow, so ps4 actually dropped even with some releases.

Around the Network

Even with several new releases, the biggest hitting #1 and #2 in the charts, PS4 hardware is still anemic.

Starting to wonder if even FF7 Remake will move the needle all that much.

Well... that's surprising. Considering how poorly the original performed I was expecting the Switch release to do a lot better. I guess the WiiU wasn't the reason the game flopped after all.

Nah, it failed cos it's a kinda crappy, unappealing game, which is why it will sell poorly on the Switch too, despite almost everything selling well on the platform.

My brother played through it on Wii U and it was extremely cringey.

The game looked horrible from the first trailer. I never understood why some tried to hype it. If it wont make it on the Switch it wont make it anywhere.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

We're probably going to see a couple of sub 5K PS4 weeks between now and RE3 / FFVII RE.

Switch hardware beastin', TMS to no ones surprise had poor sales once again.

Sony had a massive deal/price cut going on for several weeks.  It ended during week 1.

I know. So? This is week 3.

Thanks, will update the chart with these numbers

PD: The chart is getting chaotic now that I've added another year. 2017 still missing.

- W1-3 of 2020 are the highest ones for the SW so far.

- W1-3 of 202 are the lowest ones for the PS4 so far (don't have the data for years previous 2018 yet)

- Because of the strong sales NS is having the baseline went up by 34.58% from 71672 to 96458 and PS4 due to its low sales the baseline was reduced by 35.87% from 8594 to 6325.

+ Top 20 Switch games were outside the Famitsu Top 30 numbers

  • As expected Switch Software is starting to catch up to last year's numbers despite a lack of a title with the same pedegree as New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
  • Next week Switch Software should outperform last year's total comfortably due to Ring Fit Adventure not really following the usual post holiday drop.
  • Ring Fit Adventure actually has a decent chance to be the biggest game not named Animal Crossing this quarter, I expect it to start out performing Pokemon in the upcoming weeks.
  • First "major" title on the Switch in 2019 after NSMBUD was Super Robot Wars T which sold 38.218 in Week 12,
  • Yoshi's Crafted World released one week later with 53.327 sales.
  • These were the three biggest new titles on the Switch in the First Quarter of 2019
  • Top Selling Switch game during the First Quarter of 2019 was Smash Ultimate with 631.721

2016 was a desperate time for Wii U gamers. Even a rotten apple scavenged from a bin looks good to a starving man.
