And imagine if rumors are true and Horizon, Dreams and other Sony games end on PC. You could play those Sony exclusives on the Xbox!

Yeah, that would be a dilemma for Sony.

Sharing games with PC in general would be a problem for them. Given they often allow 3rd party exclusives on PC.

If people think MS REALLY cares about international sales, then it would support Windows and it would sell well just for that.

Games being on PC or not wont change a thing, because a PC capable of running PS5 and XBOX series X graphics will cost more than double the price of those consoles. Games get optimized for consoles. It wouldn't affect me at all, I play on consoles and don't plan to build a PC, so for people like me, it doesn't matter we will still buy the consoles. That's why I got an Xbox X even tough most games are on PC.

If anything sharing the exclusives with PC will be a way to sell more consoles, because performance will be better on the console, which will make the PC fans think they should just buy the console instead of investing in a 700dollars graphics card.

Those vents look massive. I wonder what the solution for clearing built up dust will be, with the PS4 and pro it's just been a wipe of tissue down the side grate every now and then which is really convenient and conpared to the ps3 the lazer has not need to be cleaned once in a combined 9 years of open air life compared to nearly once a year for the ps3 which had to be opened and voided. I hope both companies have kept this in mind but looking at those vemts isn't filling be with confidence.

I like that on the ps4 pro you have easy access to the fan, just open the top, that's it, no screws no nothing, just slide it open and clean the fan. But the more open you make a console, the more customers will mess up with something, therefore for consoles it makes sense to be as closed as possible.

But I am more confident in Microsoft than Sony, look at the X and the Pro, which one gets hotter? Which one gets louder fan? I've had both for years, Microsoft wins here.

My guess is either a power button or an LED indicator. If it's an LED indicator, it sticking out instead of being flush makes it look cheap.

That makes sense, could be.

It's the Sync button for pairing controllers.

How is syncing done with the Xbox One?

It is not a power button, the power button is the Xbox big circle. It looks like a sync button, but if that's true it cant be the final product, they wouldn't make the sync button bigger and more in front than the eject button. Which leads me to believe this is not the final design to the consumer.

Not at all, it looks too small to me, the ps4 pro is almost as big and even tough its way weaker it still makes a loud noise with the fan and cooling. If the ps5 will be as small as a ps4 pro, it will melt. Most people here do not understand how electronics/PCs work, you cant have a monster and make it tiny.

No playstation ever melted in my hand and for all the cries of jet engine on PS4 and Pro it never bothered me. So I trust that whatever form factor Sony decides it won't break down or smoke down on me so if specs are enough I am ok.

Then you have no idea about computers, the pro is way bigger in size than the slim, for a reason, but these new consoles will be way more powerful, not just slightly, unless the ps5 would have cooling similar to the X, which it wont as that's expensive, then it will be big. That's physics.

The noise might not bother you but I had the original ps4, same as 2 other friends, and we all complained, the fan could be heard OVER THE HEADPHONES which was unacceptable.

I also had friends who bought the first pro and sold it to get the slim because it was way quieter.

I Sold my original pro to get the third version 7200 which now its quiet enough to not bother me.

In total I had 6 PS4s, and I kept selling and buying just for the noise alone. The ps4 got acceptable with the second revision, I bought it it was the Destiny bundle.

I had the original pro, the loud fan didn't bother me as much as the fan switching speeds constantly depending on what was on the screen, and strangely louder when going into the options in games.

When I got my X I was super impressed at how quiet and cool it was, for me that alone is reason to choose one console over the other, and will be with the upcoming consoles, I will only buy one at launch and that will be the biggest factor in the decision.

Other factor is controller, I love the ps4 controller but the joysticks were terrible, they get slippery, but that was an easier fix, I swapped the joysticks with Xbox joysticks that I bought. At first I was using grips but those give several issues such as rotating instead of being still.

Other issue is battery life, you get 25 hours on xbox One with quick swappable batteries, I get 50 hours out of 1 charge of the 2 batteries, on ps4 I get 6 hours battery,  on the wii U pro I get 40 hours, this is a point in which Sony has to improve too.

Stop being fanboys and demand quality for your products.

I will choose the best product for my hard earned money and Xbox X engineering is miles ahead of the ps4 pro. I still keep ps4 because of the amazing exclusives and VR.

I am not an expert on the subject. Hypothetically, if Series X ran Windows games it wouldn't be as efficient games actually designed for the console. But it shouldn't struggle to run 9th gen content on Windows per se.

It would actually be a cheap gaming PC for the price given the specs.

If XSX does end up capable of playing current gen XB/PC/PS games and can emulate everything that has come before it then a lot of gamers will probably need an automatic tissue dispenser.

Are we certain that at this time the PSU is inside the console? Perhaps it again will have a huge power brick.

Well with consoles I believe that 250w connector has always been a simple cord with an internal PSU. Pretty sure even the PS2 slim had a different connection due to it's power brick.

If they were able to squeeze a 250w PSU inside the XB1X, then they can certainly fit it in the XBSX. If XBSX is that large and the power brick is external, it's going to become a joke again like it was with XB1.

For the size of it I certainly expect the PSU to be inside the console, but for 3 gen the first release of Xbox consoles had the PSU out (Xbox One, 30% weaker than PS4, probably 30% bigger and PSU outside, makes no sense but they did it).

No problem, you're welcome. The Xbox Series X (blah... I think I'll call it Screex, flows better off the tongue) "leak" image is basically what I expected from MS' earlier PR. It's interesting there's been hardly any dissastisfaction re: lack of Kinect, although really that says how marginal it really ever was all along. To the extent something like that is valuable going forward I would say it is in context of VR, but MS seems to be leaving that niche to Sony. Honestly for me it's hard to get excited about this compared to Sony's devkit which feels like it's out of a sci-fi film or something it's so gonzo. Expecting anything like it in final PS5 feels unrealistic, but the fact they did it where they could just inspires confidence in their design team. Technically it would be even doper if the faux-metal parts were real metal, but even without it seems like it could be used as prop in real movie.

Those are excellent points, I was impressed with the VR with PS4, its still in its infancy but it has huge potential, games such as snooker and table tennis were perfect in it and great innovative experiences for gaming. I'm sure Microsoft will 'jump in' next generation on this, its a huge reason to choose ps5 just for VR.

I agree with you on the naming of the console, just like public was confused with Wii U, public will get confuse between Xbox X and Xbox series X, they might thing its just a minor upgrade instead of a brand new generation console, it will hurt marketing to the general public. They should name it something catchy and public should know its a totally brand new thing. Nintendo learned this lesson by properly naming their newest console, and it paid off.

That design of ps4 dev kit could never be the final thing, for one, the ventilation is in the wrong place, they want hot air to get out and spread out as quick as possible, but dev kit if real means hot air will be gathering in one single place. Then, it seems too costly to make that design to the public, sony learned from ps3 they cant make it costly, so logic tells me it will be just a box like any other console ever. Personally I prefer a design to be vertical, but it might hurt Microsoft because it might not fit in many peoples TV centre, even tough such powerful consoles should be out in the open instead of in media centres in enclosed spaces. My Ps4 pro is a lot quieter out in the open than inside the media centre due to ventilation.

I also hope Sony gives us the option for vertical without extra cost of a stand, which, even tough its only 30dollars, that's an extra still.

Lastly I hope sony gives us an option to switch off the controller light because it reflects on the TV screens, even tough I cant complain as I use a projector so I get no reflections, I know the light is essential for VR but over 90% of consumers do not have VR.

I will not take seriously any designs that appear on the internet until sony presents the final console, I learned from previous generations that internet designs are always way different than the final product, reminds me of the ps3 controller which was completely different than what was shown on the internet.

Sony had beautiful designs with PS2 and original PS3 so fingers crossed.

Use multi-quote please, it is against rules to have 4 posts in a row even if they are replies, even more as they were replies for posts that were near one another.

Never had real issues with the light on DS4 but sure they should allow you to turn it off, at most warn you that with it turned off you wouldn't have visual clue of which is control 1,2,3,4 or that some games wouldn't work.

The boomerang controller for PS3, the Sixaxis, was the real deal (and answer from Sony from people claiming their controller never changed, plus had motion control in it). But due to poor reception they done the DS3, and after the DS3 Sixaxis.

The size will be whatever Sony needs to be to accomodate the Chips plus cooling. You are looking at something without scale to determine that it is weak because it is small and claim I don't know anything. Wait for the spec then you can say it is underpowered. And on cooling, besides noise (which don't bother me) PS4Pro works cool enough, never had issues.

PS4Pro is twice the size of PS4 because it uses a "double" GPU versus the slim, that was Sony way to ensure easy 100% compatibility.

Considering PS5 will be on a different architeture and node size your size comparison is irrelevant. Atari isn't a stronger console because it is bigger than PSOne. And even though Xbox One was like 40% bigger than PS4 it was also 30% weaker (plus had the PSU outside of the console) tell me about MS being way better at designing their HW and on managing heat and size.

The noise might not bother you but I had the original ps4, same as 2 other friends, and we all complained, the fan could be heard OVER THE HEADPHONES which was unacceptable.

Still sold 100M and many don't care so your anedoctal evidence is irrelevant as well.

Better go to some doctor if 40-45 dB can irritate you so much. I play on low volume because I have small children and even like this with Pro and PS4 original versions I hardly bother with their jet engine fan, and it is very seldom that they get noisy.

I had the original pro, the loud fan didn't bother me as much as the fan switching speeds constantly depending on what was on the screen, and strangely louder when going into the options in games.

Sure Sony have to improve on battery life. Still a second PS4 control (I always buy a second control for my consoles for when I have friends come to play) makes you swap on the spot (plus I have a charge station just inches away from my playing spot) and long term cost less than the batteries you have to buy for Xbox controller. Never had problem with the stick slippery so I can't comment.

It is your choice to buy whatever fits you best. Since I mostly play Sony exclusives, don't care for about all Xbox exclusives I would see no point in putting 500USD into an Xbox One X to play the best version of multiplats. And for that reason I said in a different post that if Sony starts putting most of their exclusives also on PC within like 3 years then I won't bother having PS5 and will make a good PC and pirate all SW. That is how I use my money.

True but 360 and XB1 have different plugs. The XB1 plug actually looks fairly similar but is different. The XB1S, XB1X, and XBSX, all have the same plug type, like the PS consoles, so it's much more likely they'll all be the same with just a cord and internal PSU.

I'll wait on Pemalite to school you on the pretense of a console capable of similar graphics as the consoles cost double. It is adorable that in the other posts you accuse others of not nothing anything. That is also not very welcome in the forum.

Then you have no idea about computers, the pro is way bigger in size than the slim, for a reason, but these new consoles will be way more powerful, not just slightly, unless the ps5 would have cooling similar to the X, which it wont as that's expensive, then it will be big. That's physics.

When I got my X I was super impressed at how quiet and cool it was, for me that alone is reason to choose one console over the other, and will be with the upcoming consoles, I will only buy one at launch and that will be the biggest factor in the decision.

Great for you, you seem to prefer noise over games.

Stop being fanboys and demand quality for your products.

Name calling, mainly fanboy ones are also forbidden here. Please read the rules.

I will choose the best product for my hard earned money and Xbox X engineering is miles ahead of the ps4 pro. I still keep ps4 because of the amazing exclusives and VR.

1 - Please tell me how can I build a PC (with a controller and with a 4K bluray player) capable of running red dead redemption 2 in native 4K with no performance issues for the price of 300dollars, because that's what I paid for my X. Also it has to have great cooling has to be silent. Please enlighten me.

2 - If you really do not like any xbox exclusives then you are not a real gamer, you are probably a child which parents bought a sony console. A real gamer will play anything, I have all consoles, Xbox, Ps4, wiiU and Switch, there is no way a real gamer wouldn't like forza horizon 4, or Halo infinite or gears 5, or recore, or Ori, or Sunset overdrive, or dead rising 3, or Alan Wake, and many more, its a shame to see individuals so in love with a piece of plastic that they will close themselves to any other amazing experiences out there

3 - Xbox X is not just the best version of multiplats, its also FREE backwards compatibility which ps4 doesn't have, and FREE 4K updates to many of those 360 and Xbox games, also a 4K Bluray player that the ps4 doesn't have, also a media player (Kodi, VLC) that the ps4 doesn't support, you cant even play HEVC on ps4 no matter what, PS4 wont even accept NTFS drives. On top of that you get 4x the battery life on xbox, for most gamers that's important. Its also the only quiet console and that also matters, the quieter the more you can immerse yourself in the sounds of the game without distractions. Then the Elite controller is miles better than any pro ps4 controller ever made.

4 - You buy a second controller for friends, but if the battery runs out then you cant play with said friends, batteries will always be a better option, stop being in denial, and swapping controllers is not as easy as swapping a battery. Also, 2 batteries with total 50 hours cost me 10dollars, a controller costs 50 dollars

5 - You have small children and you are playing videogames, wow, shame on you, bad parenting for sure, if I had small kids I'd pack the consoles and take care of priorities

6 - I can clearly hear the fan noise, and Im the one who needs a ear doctor? Did you get that wrong? Because if you cant ear fan noise it means its you who need a ear doctor, or get your ears cleaned

7 - PS4 pro works alright but its not cool, put your hand on top of the console and check for yourself, its warm on top, but totally cool with xbox X.

And Ill prove to you how wrong and clueless you are when sony presents the ps5 in February, it will be bigger than the pro, unless its way weaker than the series X. Its basic computer stuff. Its not magic
