Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox Series X out in the wild. (Images of the console)

Not at all, it looks too small to me, the ps4 pro is almost as big and even tough its way weaker it still makes a loud noise with the fan and cooling. If the ps5 will be as small as a ps4 pro, it will melt. Most people here do not understand how electronics/PCs work, you cant have a monster and make it tiny.

The xbox X looks more premium than a ps4 pro, I have both, still people bought the ps4, so it tells us that the consumer doesn't care about quality, only games, so why bother using premium materials which will make it costly? Better do it as cheap as possible. The original ps4 also creeks when picking it up, looks cheap, controller joysticks was bad, poor battery, loud fan noise, loud cheap disc drive and it was a huge success.

Look at the wiiU, maybe the most premium console this generation feels strong and everything is built to last, it even has a TV remote control in it, a camera and a volume button, yet it was a failure. Look at the switch, cheap plastics, if you drop it the screen breaks, joystick issues, cheap stand, poor battery, yet huge success

I'd rather pay more for premium, money is not an issue for me, but the public in general don't care, only the games.

You're joking right? the 360 slim was way better looking than the ps3 slim, the Xbox X is better looking than the ps4 pro, I have both, the pro is a bad design with the strip light not completing the whole distance, the strip light goes brighter on the left, also buttons on ps4 pro feel cheap, disc drive is cheap, while so smooth on the X, the whole console creeks when you pick it up, the Xbox X is just so premium.

I really hope they design the new consoles to look better in vertical, because I run out of space in my media center so I need it vertical on the side, xbox series X seems to be perfect for that. I hate that name tough, Microsoft cant really name their consoles properly, it should have been xbox 2 instead of 360, and xbox 3 instead of one, and now it should be xbox 4.

FYI, there is Quote button if you want to respond to people's posts (but if you are quoting a long post, including somebody who quoted somebody else, please trim down the quote only to what you're directly responding to). Reading 4 posts in a row without knowing their context is rather incomprehensible, "Not at all" "You're joking right" really mean nothing without knowing the context, even the person you're responding to may not even know you are responding to them.

No problem, you're welcome. The Xbox Series X (blah... I think I'll call it Screex, flows better off the tongue) "leak" image is basically what I expected from MS' earlier PR. It's interesting there's been hardly any dissastisfaction re: lack of Kinect, although really that says how marginal it really ever was all along. To the extent something like that is valuable going forward I would say it is in context of VR, but MS seems to be leaving that niche to Sony. Honestly for me it's hard to get excited about this compared to Sony's devkit which feels like it's out of a sci-fi film or something it's so gonzo. Expecting anything like it in final PS5 feels unrealistic, but the fact they did it where they could just inspires confidence in their design team. Technically it would be even doper if the faux-metal parts were real metal, but even without it seems like it could be used as prop in real movie.

I highly doubt it, but that would make it a day one purchase for me.

At the very least I would like to see Xbox capable of running Windows games in some curated fashion. Theoretically that would allow them to sell countless PC games on Xbox.

And imagine if rumors are true and Horizon, Dreams and other Sony games end on PC. You could play those Sony exclusives on the Xbox!

Yeah, that would be a dilemma for Sony.

Sharing games with PC in general would be a problem for them. Given they often allow 3rd party exclusives on PC.

If people think MS REALLY cares about international sales, then it would support Windows and it would sell well just for that.

I never thought of that when I brought my PC tower. I just wanted something good for ventilation.

Then read my post again.  It doesn't apply to you.

It might not apply to me because i buy consoles and PCs to play games and not stare at the visual design direction of the hardware.

Its a console not some Nasa product. It plays video games. And if you know this industry well, sometimes power overrides appearence. Actually that also applies to outside the industry aswell.

If MS puts this 'Windows mode' behind their XB Ultimate Game Pass then they overcome the issue of not making any money from people who'd only use it as a PC.

What is next to the USB at the front? A button?

My guess is either a power button or an LED indicator. If it's an LED indicator, it sticking out instead of being flush makes it look cheap.

That makes sense, could be.

It's the Sync button for pairing controllers.

How is syncing done with the Xbox One?
