This month has been update.
Gonna do the same for every others month from June to November. Glad to see leaks are back.

I am all for these leaks as it means I can adjust VGChartz figures to be in line with NPD as they are able track a much larger percent of the market than we are.

Kingdom Hearts III sold pretty well. It was the 7th best selling game on PS4, and 8th best game overall counting all platforms.
They spent a lot of time on that one so hopefully this is a success to them.

Also nice to see Star Wars doing so well because it's a single player game from EA without egregious microtransactions.
Hopefully that shows them there's still a high demand for games like that.

Great results for Switch for the month and the year, although there's still room for improvement. 7m+ in 2020 should be doable.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

It hurts me that somehow a 7 Year Old Port of a lazy 2D platformer game on the Wii U NSMBU for 60$ made it to the Top 20 in sales on NPD but not Super Mario Maker 2. How do people somehow want NSMBU over the far better SMM2!?

Because NSMBU is the better game. It provides an actual adventure regardless of how lazy it might be. On the other hand, SMM2 is just a glorified level editor.

The really strange thing is that Nintendo has put out a sequel to SMM, a game from 2015, but has yet to announce a new SMB game for Switch despite the much higher demand for such a game. We are closing in on eight years since the last new 2D Mario game.

They released both games in the same year. Instead of building the userbase for the 2D Mario game a year before MM2 they just clamped it together in the same year.

Can i ask you what precise percent of the market you guys track? I heard it was less than 1% some years ago, is it bigger now?

2020 predictions: NSW 21m, PS5 6m, XSX 4.5m, PS4 9m, XB1 3m
(PS5 and XSX predictions will most likely change after we know enough about them)

Switch not having a 7 million year would be kinda disappoint, because it surely has the potential to do it.

Switch will most likely surpass 40 million lifetime, every console that did over that number had a 7 million year. Some console sold 7/8 million and were not able to reach the 40 million barrer.
