This looks nice but no way that PS5 will be that small.

True.  My guess is we are going to get something that looks like the devkit, only a little smaller.

With this extravagant design the thought that Sony has extended plans doesn't sound far off. Last and current gen devkits had the impractical boxy ancient electronics look.

Is it really? I had no idea.

I don't know if you can tell from my picture, but it's pretty darn close.

Well if the ps5 is around that size I may get it. I don't buy later, smaller versions of devices as I'm either an early adopter or not one at all typically. I had a DS and never a DSlite, a Switch and never a Switch Lite. Though I did buy a New 3DS XL, but that was something I did once and regretted.

Sadly no Playstation console was ever that small with the first revision, but let's hope.

I'd be pumped if there was! Especially now that I know there are third party controllers more similar to Xbox or Switch Pro, which I'm a lot more used to!

Where there's smoke there's fire! The rumor been going around from multiple sources since last year. After the CES logo reveal everyone that covers PS5 were already saying that the major reveal was expected and rumored to be in February 2020.

I think there are tons of rumors about the reveal being in Feb, because the PS4 was revealed in Feb 2013. While I agree that Sony is highly likely to use the same timeline for the PS5, I don't think there is much more substance than that to the large majority of rumors.

Exciting stuff. Hopefully it opens the flood gates for lots of concrete info about both next gen consoles.

Well this is Sony's fifth consoles launch so we can look at there history. Also, We are less then 10 months away from the launch window.

I really don't know what Sony will do this time around, I expected they were going to announce their new controller at CES 2020 to start the hype.

I think Microsoft and Sony may play a game of chicken, so they can make last minutes update to improve performance base on the competition console specs.

2020 is going to be an exciting year for gamer regardless which console you support.

In console development, there is no such thing as "last minute update".

the specs are final and have been for months ..  a 30MHz or sth clock increase could still be considered at this stage, but that won't really "improve performance"

Agree with you probably not the hardware , but there is possibility on price. Price tend to be flexible. They will design console on certain cost and let some flexibility exist to have some leeway and alternative on sales tactic. Like with PS4 when they canceled PS4 camera to be included with PS4 and make PS4 more cheaper then Xbox One in 2013.
