I said Mid 2023, and I bet on the wrong horse. Late 2021 to early 2022 is when it seems it will happen.



Lifetime Sales Predictions 

Switch: 151 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 57 million (was 60 million, then 67 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

Never. The Switch isn't going to go off the cliff this time. It's going to run face first into the Wall just a thousand units short of outselling the Wii, Nintendo's stock is going to plummet so bad they'll be paying you to take it off their hands, and the day after that, Nintendo's president will tearfully announce that Nintendo's assets will be split between Sony, Microsoft, and Tencent. Mark my words and check back with me next week, all you naysayers.

I mean, these late 2022/2023 predictions would have probably been really good if it wasn't for the hyperspace jump that the Switch made in April 2020. As a result, I am going to go easy on these posters. I have never seen a console do a spike in mid-life before apart maybe from the Gameboy in late 1998 when Pokemon came out in the west and the Game Boy Color was released. That said, the GBC could almost be considered a completely new console, that wasn't the case with the Switch's massive spike at all.
