Forums - Sony Discussion - VGC sources (not this VGC), Schreier, and Pachter suggest that Sony may skip E3 2020

They might have a state of play if they dont attend and that seems to work for Nintendo.

Nintendo has attended E3 every year. The only major thing Nintendo changed was having a video presentation instead of an on-stage conference. The presence of an E3 booth means that people can play new demos of upcoming games, something that's not possible with a video presentation alone.

Sony would be dumb not to have an E3 presence.  That would leave all the content creators to only make next gen Xbox videos.

E3 is irrelevant anyway, who cares. The show won't go on forever.

Kinda weird how some people think that E3 is the only way to showcase a new console to the public. I'd actually be very surprised if Sony shows up at E3 this year. And I'd be surprised even more if E3 even survives the next gen.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Considering that this is the year of revealing the PS5, I find it hard to believe, even more so since they were absent last year. Back then I got it, they did not have much to talk about so why organize an event to simply repeat what we already knew. But by E3 2020, there's the PS5 and surely teasers/trailers for the first PS5 games, exclusives etc.

Sony keeping silent during E3 2020 highly unlikely.

Nintendo didn't show Switch at E3, worked out for them

Sony will attend E3 2020 however they might not show the PS5. I believe they will show it at there own event.

If the PS5 is weaker than the SeXbox, it wouldnt be wise trying to show it off to a competitor that has that advanrage, unless they have some amazing features or a decent launch line up that can cover that flaw, but it seems SeXbox is also coming out strong with a good launch lineup and we don't know the features for it either aside from Full BC which already sounds better than only last gen BC if that rumour is true.

Exciting times to see what both will do.

There is no way in hell that Sony skips E3 this year.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

I enjoy watching them to determine who wins in my own mind. Any skipping makes me sad. I've never owned a PlayStation, nor plan to, but I'm always interested in their announcements.

Sony revealed the PS5 logo at an event not strongly associated with gaming and the whole world knows about it. I'm sure they could easily skip E3 and showcase the PS5 in their own event, either a State of Play or a live event similar to the ones that revealed the PS4 and later the PS4 Pro.

This might be one of Pachter's "broken clock" moments.

That would be disappointing. Although I doubt Sony is skipping E3 for the PS5 launch year.

If Patcher said it then Sony will have their best E3 ever.
