MS didn’t reveal any tangible specs either. Are they also scrambling to change something?

Oh wow what an unexpected logo

You can tell the difference between the brand's powers. Just a logo has almost 5M likes on instagram after a little over a full day. The picture of the XBSX that came out almost a month ago is still shy of 1M.

I was a bit on the fence with this console based on what we've seen so far, but this just sealed a day 1 purchase.

Which in no case reduces the characteristics of the console or its potential.

Only the usual suspects are complaining or talking it down. Most others don’t care what the name or logo is. So long as the content is there.

I mean, if it ain't broke...

The specs are already set because the dev kits are already out. The specs of the PS5 are not going to be more than the dev kits because that would be low balling the consoles full potential. Also keep in mind why would SONY be trying to change something just because Phil Spencer showed the series X off at the game awards? They never put the specs either and many developers are still saying that the PS5 still has a slight power edge and even if they don't SONY's first party studios have a reputation and the talent to get the most out of the console.

Sony's developers are only responsible for a very tiny fraction of games PS consumers buy.

Even if Sony's devs could still get the same or even better results with worse hardware, other devs wouldn't and we learned at the start of this generation that many PS owners don't like to have less power. That was after all the reason we got threads about this topic over years.

The same would be obviously the case with Xbox. PS and Xbox have many consumers who talk a lot about console graphics and fps.

Indeed. VGC is looking to be the right place for constructive and deep discussions about the launch of PS5 and XBX. Can't wait.
