Cocky and arrogant Sony and Jim Ryan. Sony fans should look forward to the PS5 Pro in 2022.

1.) What.

2.) How is anyone being arrogant?

3.) No way is PS5 pro coming that quickly.

1) Sony has a presence at CES 2020 and Sony says "the future is coming" at CES 2020. They have a dedicated segment on gaming at the conference and bring in Jim Ryan.

When Sony's Jim Ryan took the stage at CES to talk about PlayStation, plenty of fans couldn't help but hope for something related to the PS5. Ryan did, technically, deliver, as Ryan said: "I'm pleased to share with you today, for the first time... our new logo."

2) Last generation featured mid generation refresh and many Sony and Xbox owners recently made the upgrade to the PS4 Pro and Xbox one X. So, we really don't know how the consumer will react this time around for the start of this new generation. Especially, if all the current gen game for PS5 & XBSX will most likely run on the old gen console for the foreseeable future. This should in theory lead to a slower upgrade to next gen especially when it come to the casual gamers.

Sony arrogance:

Ryan stated that "as we move towards the next-generation in 2020, one of our [Sony's] tasks -- probably our main task -- is to take that community and transition it from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, and at a scale and pace that we've never delivered on before."

They have a press conference at CES where the focus is entirely on hardware and new tech and Sony is proud to announce their new Logo.

3)My bad I meant to say Sony will announce the release of a PS5 Pro version in 2022. It's pretty clear that this is Sony new business model. I do think that Sony will have a PS5 Pro that will surpass the Xbox one Series X ready for Year 3 of the next generation.

Sony does a lot more than gaming.  It's not Sony's fault that people were hyping it up to be their next gaming console.  That's on the journalists.  It made no sense because Sony didn't announce the PS2, PS3, PS4, PSV, PSP at CES, and there was no reason to think it was going to be different this time.

It boggles my mind that anyone was expecting anything more than a logo.  I've been betting for the past year and a half that Sony would probably have a conference next month specifically for the console.

The PS4 was given a full two hour showing, with tech and games, and that was before E3 happened.

There was no way in heck that they were going to show anything at CES about PS5, because CES is just as much about showing off their camera tech, and their TV tech as it is about their games system.

They are wanting to transition to next gen in a big way.  That's hardly arrogance.  It's not anymore arrogant than MS.

And I'm sure MS will have a Series X2 around the same time.  It's pretty much implied by the name.

1. Sony was at CES and they were please to share the new PS5 Logo, you claim it was clear that Sony wouldn't show anything PS5 but you were wrong they were happy to show their new logo.

2. The current landscape and competition is completely different then it was with the PS4. The console competition isn't in shamble like it was for the PS4, Nintendo with a failed system in WiiU and Xbox underpowered overprice console combine with DRM marketing nightmare. Also, the introduction of cloud gaming might have a future impact on consoles sales. PS4 was a massive success but all the stars were aligned for perfect system launch.

Arrogance: exaggerating or disposed to exaggerate one's own worth or importance often by an overbearing manner an arrogant official.

PS5 will have a successful launch but I don't expect it to set the world a blaze like the statement from Jim Ryan. I don't think they are in the same landscape to
surpassed the success of the PS4. It's just arrogance the kind of arrogance they had with the PS3 and we all know what happen back then.

3. It really all depends on 4k 60FPS. Last generation we all wanted 1080p 60 fps from PS4 & Xbox One and we were sadly very disappointed. In the end the console are limited to the TV displaying the graphic. This generation the benchmark will be 4K 60FPS. As a console gamer, I have no interest in buying a new console every 2-3 years (especially if you own all three consoles).... even last gen refresh to PS4 Pro and Xbox one X failed to meet our expected benchmark.

There still a large percentage of console gamer that don't have a 4k TV.

I love Sony and the Playstation and all that but their CES com sucks. NOBODY watched to see a logo!

We wanted either a reveal of the actual system or actual specs confirming or not, the recent rumors of a 9.2 TF PS5.

I'm tired of rumors and counter rumors, each stating the opposite of the previous one.

For example, if the PS5 is so much weaker than the Xbox Series X, what the hell were those rumors not so long ago from developers saying that what they are working on, shows a PS5 that is super powerful and actually more so than the Series X. These guys are not the average Joe voicing an opinion, they are professionals working on future PS5 games so what does that mean? It only brings confusion.

So this was the perfect time for Sony to talk about figures and specs. But why do that when you can just allow for the confusion to go on longer, right?

lol Sony literally just shows "PS5" written and we already have this kind of damage control.

Seems like we'll have some real fun with next gen releases again

Nintendo was like..... well we cant take black or white backgrounds.... those other guys already took them.
Mario is red..... lets use a red background!

That isnt creative, theres nothing in their logo thats really creative, or more so than the others in logo form.

First of all...You are aware that the PS5 logo was revealed hours ago and this Xbox ONE logo is not the official one (the official has green in it) right? So no, when the switch logo was revealed, black or white were not "already taken".

Secondly, the Switch logo is very creative because it reminds the features of the console: detachable controllers.

It's even more creative with the sound it makes when you see it animated at the beginning of every trailer or advert. This sound reminds of the actual sound of the joy-con being reattached. It's genius communication: the logo reminds both the attached and the detached joy-con, which is the essence of the console.

Thank you.

Someone who understands the term creative.

Did this need a reveal? It's the same as the PS4, but with a 5.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
