Crazy rumor coming out of Reddit today. Most likely utter nonsense, but I figured I'd post it anyway:
Rumor is that Sony is in talks to purchase Zenimax, the parent company that owns Bethesda Game Studios (Fallout/Elder Scrolls/Starfield), Arkane (Dishonored/Prey reboot/Deathloop), id (Doom/Quake/Rage), Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within/Ghostwire Tokyo), Machine Games (Wolfenstein), Zenimax Online (Elder Scrolls Online), and Roundhouse (original Prey). According to the same leaker, Bethesda shut down Starfield 3 months ago and is focusing entirely on Elder Scrolls 6 now instead, with a planned release in 2022, with Fallout remakes planned for 2021:
Deal would be finalized by the end of January/early February. Star field was canned 3 months ago, all hands on deck for TES 6 for a 2022 release date. Fallout remakes next year. Can give more details soon. |

A similar rumor was reported on about 2 months ago by Tim from Kinda Funny Games apparently.
