Forums - Sales Discussion - Global Hardware 14 December 2019

900k in each of the last two weeks is needed for Switch to match the SNES total, managing that feat would mean the NES is not only the next milestone nut it has AC in March to help speed things up in the final quarter of FY.

I forgot to mention. This week saw the release of the Switch in China.

Was counted 50.000 or 100.000 units in the total ?

Holy fucking shit balls those Switch sales are insane. It's crazy how they can move such a sick number of units in such a short amount of time. Really emphasizes the importance of November + December, and I'm curious what percentage of total hardware sales occur during those months.

And with the PS5 and Xbox coming out next holiday, that will put the Switch at almost 4 years old. Maybe Nintendo will see that as the time to release a hardware revision that includes a performance boost?

Imagine a Switch Pro that essentially runs in handheld mode the same way the regular Switch runs docked, with a 1080p screen. When actually docked, it's able to run BotW at 1080p 60 fps (instead of 900p @ 20~30 FPS).

Not sure about a Switch Pro next year, though I could see it happening. I'm just thinking if they release one it needs to be a decent upgrade. So like slight performance boost, larger screen taking out the dead area, substantially bigger hard drive, and ideally more battery or at least the same as the newer OG Switch battery. If they can do all that and make a profit selling it at $300 and drop the OG Switch to $250 then yeah that'd make sense. Definitely see a price drop coming next year, so it would make sense to have an upgraded version launch to keep that $300 price tag too.

Switch in NA and Japan alone > PS4 + Xbone globally.

No need to mention it, China consoles sales are so low that we don't notice it.

Switch is probably the hottest Christmas present right now! Loved by everybody in all regions!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Congrats to Switch on the explosive sales. Well deserved.
PS4 in Europe a little low? I mean for the longest time it was over 100k every single week and now into Christmas is flat week over week from 202k to 208k? Seems a little low to me. But we'll see in time I guess. They did adjust PS4 numbers up over 1M 6 months ago because they under tracked it so much in Europe and Rotw late last year.

Wow spectacular numbers for the switch, destroying everything.

PS4 should see a nice increase for the next couple of weeks since Sony lowered the price to $249 for the only on slim bundle and some random pro sales.

Xbox one... well, what can I say.

3DS is almost dead.
