Let's see if I get this.
I'll be given someones steam name, and their VGchartz name,
I then research this thread/the wishlist/their steam for what they like.
I "gift" it to them directly through steam? Or do I need gog? I don't have a gog Account.

- Also how is it a secret? It is one steam account giving it to another. Pretty obvious who did it.
I don't really even have much of a wishlist. My PC is old enough I just don't consider buying new games for it.

Hello.

Yes, if you join you'll be given the name of a user whose Steam ID and wishlist can be found on the second post of this thread, and you can gift it to him through Steam. Alternatively, if you want to remain completely hidden, you could get the game or games from one of the different key selliers like Humble Store or Fanatical (to name two), send me a message with the codes of the games and I'll pass them to your Tiny Tim.

Your wishist, like anyone else's, is just to point what games he/she likes and would like to get, but you're free to gift whatever game you think he/she may like.

No, you don't need a GOG account. That's just for those that prefer one store over the other. That said, and that's just a personal note, if you have an old PC, you may want to give GOG a look as it has a wide selection of old games that you'll be able to run without much problems.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Okay the sounds interesting.

Can I just list a bunch of games I've played, and the type I like? For example: turn based/strategy or anything that lets you "take your time" to do your turn.

Of course!

The more info you give, the easier it will be for your Secret Santa to know what to gift you.

Okay I'm in.

Steam username: Bandorr.  No GoG ID.  Although I can make one if needed I guess.

  • Slay the Spire
  • Monster Slayers
  • Civilization
  • FTL
  • Guild of Dungeoneering
  • Into the Breach
  • Dungelot
  • Age of Rivals
  • Knight Pen and Paper +1 edition
  • Dead in Bermuda
  • The Cave
  • Game Dev Tycoon

Basically any game where I can take my time. I can pause whenver, if I get distracted I can come back to it. Where I don't have to be glued to my screen to keep up.

Although I do like cookie clickers actually

  • 700 hours in Clicker Heroes (mostly idling but still)
  • 410 hours in Soda Dungeon (still some idling).

Easy to stop start and once you get the automation they are pretty neat.

Welcome aboard then!

I've tried to find you and this is the only "Bandorr" on Steam. Is that you? If you aren't, could you please post the link to your Steam account?

By the way, have you tried games like Xcom? They're also turn based strategy games.

It would be helpful to know which games you already have (also the ones on other platforms) so you don't get a game (or games) you already have.

Putting games in a wishlist that you don't have (and deleting them from the wishlist as soon as you get a game on any of your platforms) lowers the risk of disappointment.

Yeah that's me. I don't do much with my profile LOL.

Yeah I know of Xcom.  Certainly seems interesting.  I think you get to skill up people? Been a while since I've seen some people play Xcom.

That would be a good game for the list. I think there are two now?

Heroes of Might and Magic would also be good for you.

Ok, I'll add you to the list. Don't be surprised to recieve a lot of friend requests, you can only gift games to other Steam members if they're on your friend list.

And yes, there are two of the new XCOM games and your soldiers level up and can learn new habilities. There's also a game called Xenonauts that's more in line with what the original X-COM games were about, it's also fun and can run on almost anything.

I remember those. I played them way back in the day. Like when games actually came on CD for PC.

They were really fun. I think I remember liking making angels?

The first 5 of them are on GOG now.  Good excuse to create an account!
