Will we have sales date from there...This is really not sure.

Ninty always shares sales data, even when it's not going so well like with the Wii U, so probably when ninty releases quarter 3 results, we'll know the first month sales in china.

If true, it'll be amazing

"Liftoff, we have Liftoff"

Imagine if sales became big enough to become it's own region. China certainly has enough inhabitants to allow this to happen.

If it truly catches on, upwards mobility in china means it has enough rich enough people that it can be as big or bigger than any of the other major regions. China and India are the markets to capture for not just gaming, but most companies right now. Even though the chinese and Indian governments suck and at least the Indian government is less intrusive except if you're in Kashmir and for gaming, I don't think China will be that intrusive

Any news on software released at launch or in the launch window?

If Nintendo were to manage an actual pierce in that market (aside any relative bearing and grudges I have against China). This could litteraly be the end game of console sales.

But I'm probably seeing too big. A couple millions would be incredible already !

No source sorry, someone on a financial forum that I follow pretends that pre orders in China reached a total of 103820 units on first day.

The number seems to be wrong to me.

When you directly go to the item (https://item.jd.com/100010343850.html) then you can switch between the colours and the numbers wont change. So I guess it is like for both colours combined. Still it is already at 62k right now.

Will be interesting to watch the number growing the next days.

I thought this release was going to take a while longer.
They have been working towards it for a while but getting into the chinese market is hard.

Well they managed to release it before christmas and New Years.
Seems like preorders are already going well.

And look at those ads :D

Note the one-child policy.

Oof, seriously ... They're bundling the console with a demo .... Lol, keep buying your games overseas I guess

Interesting that they are only putting Mario titles out there at first.  What about Zelda, Smash Bros and Pokemon?
