Switch going strong. Can't wait to see what Black Friday numbers are going to be like this year. This holiday is definitely all about the Switch.

Switch is looking to easily win Black Friday week. However, I wouldn't say the PS4 or Xbone will have very low sales relative to what they've done in the past. Looking like the cheap Xbox One SAD is selling really well due to being just $149.

XBOne will have high sales with the deal, but that’ll hurt future hardware sales. Not saying it isn’t a smart move since the revenue from both software and brand promotion for conversion to sales of the XBTwo will probably outdo the otherwise revenue trajectory. For the intents and purposes of these threads, XBOne comes out of this a weakling for hardware sales once this period is over.

The Switch could reach this (Wii + DS) next year if there is a Switch Pro.

I really don't think so; those demanding a Pro are vocal internet minority. The average consumer is fine with Switch's current power level.

What would be the point anyway? A Switch Pro released in 2020 would still be weaker than PS4 and still a generation behind PS5/Scarlett.

A “pro” would help interest in the console, the same way the PS4 pro and Xbox 1 X did for their systems. It is a good idea that Nintendo should do for the switch

Not necessarily, the PS/XB fanbase care more about specs/high end graphics than the Nintendo fanbase does.

Will be interesting to see if this eats into PS4 sales at all (in NA at least).  Normally the tail end of sales is associated with a really good price cut compared to the console's original price, but PS4 hasn't really cut the price much overall.  Some of those people waiting around for a cheap PS4 may just fold and get the XB1 SAD deal instead.

The people wanting moar powah will still bash it for being weaker than the base PS4 and a gen behind PS5/Scarlett, and the average consumer won't care. The idea that it'd give a massive boost to Switch sales, especially "Wii + DS" levels, is just fantasy.

PS4 is $199 with 3 games bundled

It wouldn't please either camp though; the people wanting moar powah will still bash it for being weaker than the base PS4 and a gen behind PS5/Scarlett, and the average consumer won't care. The idea that it'd give a massive boost to Switch sales, especially "Wii + DS" levels, is just fantasy.

Yep, Lite will do significantly to help Switch sales than a hypothetical Pro ever would.

For a price conscious customer this may be a better deal (especially when you consider GamePass).  We won't know until next week.

Having more power isn’t exactly the important part. Just having a new system that is better than the last is the important part. Power also isn’t the only important part that could factor in to it. Nintendo will have a new system like this eventually, probably next year. Lite won’t be the last of the switch family

If newness is the important part, no need to even bother with a substantial power upgrade. I agree they'll be more Switch models, but one targeting power would be pointless.
