I've barely commented on the issue myself, why are you asking me to let people discuss the game? I've prohibited nobody of doing so.

I commented on posts talking about the game situation to talk about the game situation.

The same way I commented with info about the sd card issue to you when you were talking about it.

When people commented about the design (I don't remember if it was in this thread) I commented how much I liked Alcremie design.

And you don't view yourself as a part of that bickering in any way? I seem to recall a couple generalizing statements about those "hating on the game" from you. Perhaps if you were more accepting of people disappointed in the game and their opinions the bickering would be lessened, but I guess it's easier to put down those who were disappointed and then complain that they are able to talk about issues with the game in a thread about a game's metacritic score. What would you like everyone to discuss in this metacritic thread if not whether the game deserves the score? Because that's generally been the point of any metacritic thread. 

In fact I don't.  When there is a game I don't particular care for or it isn't my thing, no I don't run into every single thread trashing it.  I let those who do like it enjoy their discussion.  So no, I don't view myself park of that.  But hey you are the site Admin, your call on how the sites move forward.  Asking people to stop trashing a game in every thread doesn't seem like a huge ask to me.  But again, I'm not in charge.     

@BraLoD, my comment wasn't directed singularly at you.  I should have been more clear, that is on me.  When I said "you all" I wasn't referencing you specifically, I meant the group of folks who have made it their goal to trash the game relentlessly.  But again, I wasn't clear, that is on me.  My apologies.

Gamefreak used remaking pokemon models and doing better animations as the excuse to answer why where pokemon being cut off the game.

What we saw in the trailers were the same models and animations from the 3DS and when the game released it was instantly datamined proving the models where the same from Sun and Moon.

So yes, they lied.

When the issue first arose, Masuda said that they cut Pokémon because there was in general too many and they wanted high quality animations. The first par is subjective, but a lot of moves has way better animations and models in general move way better. Also, let’s not act like tweeks didn’t have to be made to the models at all for stuff like the overworld 

Bruh what are you doing? Game Freak is the one ultimately responsible, direct your ire at them. Just like how complaining about criticism is pointless, so too is complaining about people freely buying what they want.

Yep you sound like someone who has no problem with differing opinions and definitely isn't the instigator here. Calling people who have a different view bitches is a sure way to create meaningful discussions and an inviting environment!

Just as a counterpoint to some of the cherry picking going on.  Some of the models and animations at least are clearly far better than what was found on the 3DS.  Obviously not every single animation is going to be a priority.  For example, when they show double kick in the video posted earlier.  Obviously a weak move that few people are actually going to use that often is not going to be a priority, whereas signature moves for the starters and legendaries were.

And there are some comparisons between the game and Let's Go.  My little brother bought the game for me, and it's downloading, so I'll have the chance to see for myself, but basically it looks like an incremental upgrade from Let's Go... which is about what I think ought to be expected?  I mean, there's an argument to be made that the graphics for the series weren't that good to begin with, but if you've been ok with them till now, I honestly can't see how this entry is anything egregious.  Just kind of seems to me like people are upset about the cut Pokemon so they're looking for other things to attack.

Yeah I really thought it was weird that the Donkey poke'mon has a signature kick move with a kicking animation, but when he does the doublekick fighting move he doesn't just do that animation twice. Instead he just does a 2 inch jump into the air. Also Scorbunny has an animation in his Poke'dex profile that could have been used for the doublekick move. 

The best explaination I can think of is that Gamefreak might want to keep some of the old animations for nostolgia's sake. Kind of like how we still hear digitized Poke'mon screams, instead of smoother sound files. If true, then criticizing Poke'mon for lazy animations would be as silly as criticizing Dragonquest for 8 bit sound effects. 

But that's just a theory, and we'd have to ask the developers. 

Only played it for about 2-3 hours, but Im really not feeling it tbh. I just don't want to play it. Ill give it some more time I guess.

EDIT: Played for a few more hours and it is getting better, but man those first 3-4 hours were a bit crappy.
