Forums - Sales Discussion - UK: Just Dance 2020 sells more on Wii than PS4/Xbox One

Fun Fact: This game is releasing 13 years after the Wii launched. This ties the record with PES 2014 for PS2 which also released 13 years after the console launched.

The difference though, the Wii version was still the second best selling version (UK at least) while PES 2014 on PS2 was the worst selling version (UK and NPD). This suggests the Wii may receive Just Dance 2021 which would give it the record for the longest post-console launch release for a major publisher.

That just suggests to me that the Just Dance series is pretty dead now.

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

Haha, you wish

You know what it suggests to me? That Ubisoft are geniuses. To actually make money off a console that came out in 2006 is so crazy it's ingenious.

Why? I really couldn't care less how well the Just Dance series does, so why would I wish it were dead?

And there's nothing genius about it. If one of your biggest fanbases is on a console that is yonks old and barely anybody uses, let alone buys new games for, then clearly your fanbase has declined masssively. I mean, maybe I'm wrong and it still sold massively well despite that... but it debuted at #15... in the UK... which probably means it was sub 5k in sales. For a game that at it's peak sold over 10m on a single platform. Yep, massive decline indeed.

Well that's not really new. The decline happened a long time ago. It peaked with the 2011 release JD3 (~13m) and pretty much died with the Wii (and Kinect). Now only about 2m on 6 platforms.

At least here in Florida retirement communities use the wii to get old people moving.

I'm almost tempted to pick it up, just for the sake of owning the last Wii game, lulz.

I still have my Wii hooked up to the TV, long after the Wii U's been packed away.

A proof that wii wasn't really collecting dust and was abandoned prematurely, just because sales stopped being astronomical and went to normal heights, Nintendo panicked or something else...
Wii could have sold more than what wii u sold in two years, in 2013...

Just Dance ignored the Wii U just like everyone else did. Also, I never saw new Wii games for sale. What store goes around and buys new Wii games? Do they put it in the Wii section?

Wow, not bad for a 13 year old console that was already somewhat dated with its hardware heh. But I suppose that sort of game fits the Wii style/audience far more than that of the PS4/XB One. Good to know the last Wii game ever is going out with a bang XD
