wow.
OG switch keeps the same numbers, switch lite numbers exploded!
People waited Luigis mansion to buy switch lite.
Well, imagine with pokemon and animal crossing...

A special edition Pokemon themed Lite model came out on the 1st, that's why its sales increased so much.

What a week!  Luigi's Mansion numbers are normally good enough to give a very solid top spot, but it gets totally upstaged by Persona 5R.  Ring Fit Adventure still selling over 50k a week!  Is this the third week?  If so, then sales numbers hardly drop from one week to the next.  That is kind of crazy how good that is.  So much happening that we forget that 38k this week for Call of Duty is extremely respectable, especially in Japan.

Then there are those Switch hardware numbers!  It feels like holiday season already.  However, when you compare to last year, then you see they almost tripled YoY sales for this week.  Wow!

Persona 5 Royal being an exclusive was a mistake, espically after the original was on two systems

No Switch release is major mistake. Joker in Smash and screw you, Nintendo.

Famitsu undertracked Switch hardware.

I guess most people aren't boycotting Pokemon. Lol

Switch numbers are incredible, just like Luigi's game is by the way.
However, i wonder if it's that good in the (very) long run. I am not talking about nintendoom or falling of the cliff here, i don't want to be misunderstood, but when i take into account the followings facts :
-Nintendo best market, especially for handheld consoles ;
- recent hardware revision
-boost only for the lite with a special pokemon edition ;
-luigi's new game this week ;
i'm a little afraid one year of two after the release of pokemon of what the sales can be for the swith. Maybe in 6 months i can see there's no worry to have, when we will have analysed the effects of pokemon and christmas on the market, and the few monthes of sales after this.

vouchers? 40 - 45 % digital sales for nintendo releases.

Great week for the Switch. 93% Switch / 7% PS4 that's gotta be a record! Ring Fit Adventure is doing exceptionally well, down only 20% from last week and only 25% down from launch week when games usually go down 50-70% from week 1 to week 2.

There is nothing to worry about, by this point in time 3DS was already starting to fade while Switch seems to be hitting its stride.

3DS

2011-4282k

2012-5497k (+28.4%)

2013-4882k (-11.2%)

2014-3176k (-35.0%)

2015-2347k (-26.1%)

Switch

2017-3312k

2018-3534k (+6.7%)

2019-~4500k (+27.3%)

3DS having a price cut in year 1 and revision in year 2 while Switch didnt get those until year 3 is why they are having different trajectories.

Switch could very well start to decline in year 4 but it should be a much smaller drop than 3DS had and it should start gaining ground from this point onward.

November 3 is the date Nintendo announced the Switch hit 10 million units sold in Japan, while Famitsu has it at 9.8 million.

On Era they discussed that none of the trackers have access to Nintendo's online store (which obviously Nintendo does).

This week should be a bottom 5 week for the PS4, right?

Yes, thanks!! Corrected the chart in the op. It is the fourth best selling week for SW and the fourth worst selling week for PS4. What a world!! Starting for week 41 it's been in the bottom 5, will week 45 'make it'?
