Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I am thinking about buying a switch...

In black friday if i get a cool deal or if i dont change my mind until then.

Lately every game i play its the same shit, i get bored after a while or i get bored as soon as i start them.

list of shit i started and didnt finished:

Ass creed odissey: was repetitive garbage with a world full of repetitive garbage quests that bored me.

Gow4 : was bored to the bones and hated the combat, story was not engaging and that little shit of kratos son didnt shut the f. up.

devinity original sin : after 10 hours i was already in painevery time i played it

Sekiro : stopped at final boss, tried 5 times , not worth the suffering to finish it, didnt even watch the ending on youtube.

tomb raider: played like 4 hours and stopped

Switch games can cure me, i just want to lay down in bed or couch and play and chill watching some youtube or podcasts. Switch seems to me have these games and its a system that i might enjoy. Pokemon is the game i just think about now, i just want a switch to play the shit out of this game.

But i have questions first.

Is nintendo shop any good?

Does it have deals often? Every month like psn ? All those games i mentioned costed tops 40 euros most of them way cheaper. Does nintendo shops makes deals for the best games like lets say zelda. once in a while? i dont know wbout your country but in here zelda is still like 60 euros wtf xD, they are more expensive than other games and they just dont drop price.

How many years of life does the switch still have?

do i need to buy memory card first? I will probably just play pokemon until ff7 remake, last of us 2 and cyberpunk ,after finishing these then i will probably play zelda botw , after that i dont know.

Do i need to pay online subcription to play pokemon online?

Still dont know if i go with the normal or this new version that released. I dont want to spend a lot of money.

There is constantly deals on the E shop. Botw doesnt budge in price much but its easily the best game ive played in a long time. Memory card depends on if you plan to buy digital. I would also recommend Hellblade senua's sacrifice.

Just get it then.
Though if you hated GoW4 nothing can cure you, sadly.

There is a digital game for the Switch called Baba is You, you should get it.
Probably the worst time to jump into Pokemon, but I hope you enjoy it.

Im curious about this as well for third party games. (For Nintendo's own big titles like Zelda, Mario, Smash, they won't go down in price iirc.)

Does anyone know what the lowest Valkyria Chronicles 4 has gone for on the e-shop so far?
Or can we expect to see it for around $20 any time soon?

Yes.

$4 per Month, $8 for 3 months, or $20 for a year.

If you're concerned about the joycon drifting issue, it's good to note that replacing the joysticks on the Switch Lite is much more difficult. You can just buy a new Joycon for the standard version. Or if you want to send them in for repairs, you dont need to send your whole system with the standard Switch. You have to with the Lite since its just one single device.

Nice! The Switch is fantastic and has a great variety of games.

The Nintendo eShop has some good deals. Big games like Zelda and Mario don't go on sale that often, or at all (but they're amazing games, so it's worth it!), but third party and indie games go on sale fairly frequently. Buy a Micro SD card if you plan to buy mostly digital.

Go with the regular Switch if you plan to play on the TV. Otherwise, the Switch Lite will do you good if you just want a portable experience. Plus, the Switch Lite is $100 cheaper.

You need a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online to play games online, including Pokemon.

Hope this helps!

Yes. it's simple and easy to navigate and there is a section for discounted games.
You can often find very good deals, but for third party titles only, not for Nintendo games, they usually stay at full price.

Switch will be the main Nintendo console at least until 2023, so for another 4 years from now.

Do i need to buy memory card first?
Nope, if it's just for Pokemon you can just use the internal memory (32Gb).

Do i need to pay online subcription to play pokemon online?
Yeah, to play the online component of the game you will need to subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online, it's €19,90 per year.
You will also get free access to the best NES and SNES games and unique games such as Tetris 99. And cloud saves for your games!

If you plan to play Switch only in handheld mode I suggest you to buy the Lite model (€199), otherwise just get the revised original model (€299) to play as you like on Tv.

Ew.

There's hardly any good deal when it comes to Nintendo products unless you plan to wait for a long time. You might as well just buy it now.

Pokemon looks amazing, can't wait. The Switch is Nintendo's best since the SNES. Worth every penny.

As anyone in this forum would tell you, Nintendo products are near perfect. Nintendo games are amazing and games ported to that console are "the ultimate way to play them" even tho they are all blurry. But its cool, since as we've learned resolution is only important in any other console.

Seriously tho, ive personally enjoyed my Switch mainly because of BOTW, MK8 deluxe and Astral Chain. Cant really say much of other games, I guess im not Nintendo's target audience. Even Odyssey bored me. The NEshop is alright, not as varied as maybe you'd hope and lacking a Virtual Console department which for some reason I had assumed itd have. But its getting Pokemon in a couple of days, and Untitled Goose Game is fun, so yeah, theres that. Would say its worth it specially if you get it on sale.

If you are unconvinced and bored just buy MHW and play for like 500hours. That game is more fun than the ones you mention.
