The patent is very identical to Ps4 design patent. There would be no need for patent if it was just a dev kid, in my opinion.

I have never cared about what the console looks like. It can be the size of a Cradit Card or a Refrigerator, it doesn't matter to me. The size and look of the console have no absolutely no effect on me.

The only thing I care about from the physical Home Console hardware is how the controller feels. Again, it could be the ugliest thing that ever exsistsed, but if it feels great and works right, then it doesn't matter to me.

I am only picky about design when it comes to Mobile. A Mobile Game Console has to look presentable, be pocketable, and function comfortably for long periods.

I'm buying PS5 and XB4 regaurdless of their looks.

Personally I do not like a console or any equipment with a lot of lights on it. After a while they just because distracting under my TV. This thing looks huge and I rather it be the size of the PS4 or even the X1X. Give me a nice sleek minimalist design. I have a lot of stuff underneath my TV so space is a premium.

Then this would be by far the ugliest main console of all time.

It's a device for the living room and should be as unobtrusive as possible.

It looks cool in a vacuum, but I definitely would not want that thing sitting in my entertainment center.

That's an impractical design. I'm pretty sure the engineers could use the space on top better.

it's not good looking, but I don't really give a damn about the looks of the new PS5 .. that design might even be a net positive to me if it makes the console run really quiet

while my PS4 is not super loud it does get audible in some games/situations, especially uncapped game menues

from what I read the design is making sure that multiple units can be stacked without disturbing each others air flow

maybe such design it is due to the heat generated by the cpu. there is no such thing as impractical for a box that you put in a place and forget. The real deal is the controller design, which the player interacts with all the time playing.
