The you will probably have to wait untill 2022+ to buy it.

Then so be it.  I'll wait, or just not get it.  If Sony wants me to be a Switch only owner, fine by me.

You wanting reverse inflation isn't Sony wanting you to be Switch only owner, that is a decision you are making yourself.

Agree to disagree.  Sony determines price point, which drives my decision.  A $500 console + $100 HDD upgrade (more than likely) + $60 a year to play online + $70 for extra controller equates to expensive.  Especially when I personally think power is the most overrated aspect of a console.

Over the course of 5 years, all that adds up to $970.  I'm just not doing it.  Sony can either deliver a price driven console or drop pay to play online.  That is their call, not mine.

The controller features sound very interesting, but potentially also a potential point for breaking / battery drain. I want to check them out.

I don't think the newer CPUs will make as much of a difference as some people believe. Remember we once moved from simple 1990s RISC CPUs to the 3.2 GHz, multithreaded CBE design in the X360 and PS3, and yet graphics and RAM proved to be the most important factors in the following years.

Deflation is only a reality for you if you own real hard assets (aka precious metals). But if all you got in your hands is fiat currency, you are destined to lose purchasing power every single month/year.

I am predicting at least 2TB SSD (not HDD).

2 TB would be great, it would prevent me from having to upgrade day 1.  I'm still waiting a $400 price tag.  Anything higher is a hard sale for me.  Mostly because I still have a 1080p TV and that needs an upgrade as well.  I may have to upgrade my TV and wait on the ps5 for a bit.

I would always choose a device that offers new content/experiences over something that offers the same experiences I already have.

New console over a new TV.

VR over a Mid Gen Upgrade.

Upgrading is something best done with excess, expanding is growth, and growth is what life is all about.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Suuuuure, you will get an 2TB M2 ssd in an already expensive console...

(Some people are beyond delusional)

Looking at the poll I think the majory sees what SSDs do for PCs and want some off that speedy loading and I tend to agree, try replaying Dragon Age its horrible yuck. Thats why i voted for a better UI i can live with loading times i mean those are natural with hdds sloppy UI that tends to crap out once in a while is more annoying, since thats purely shitty coding.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Currently for a single 2tb ssd first search result is near 200 euro if not over, but if you'd order 30 million of those

Except if a large part of that new console is 4k + HDR, none of which my current TV supports....  that would be like having a sports car with no gas.
