Was confirmed a few months ago that it would be backwards compatible with the PS4.

"The PS5 will support backwards compatibility - with seemingly all PS4 games, as it's "based in part on the PS4's architecture".

Hardware-Level Ray Tracing not Software

"ray-tracing acceleration in the GPU hardware" =/= Hardware-Level ray tracing.

“There is ray-tracing acceleration in the GPU hardware,” he says, “ -Wired

Acceleration means - there is a specific instruction on the GPU to make raytracing perform better = dedicated hardware

Also it's not software and not emulation.

Nothing really surprising, most here were expecting holiday 2020 for the release since the first teaser and the name is a no brainer. Also getting the 2 upgrades for the controler is just adopting current tech so noting surprising.

100GB Optical Disks

Dualshock 5 with adaptive triggers (that can offer varying levels of resistance) and haptic feedback.

It's called PlayStation 5 and not PlayStation One.

You missed this "like the PS5, it will ditch the spinning hard drive for a solid-state drive."

The discussion about mechanical hard drive + ssd vs only ssd is over, it will be 1TB SSD.

Edit: Or to be more accurate 1TB NVMe drive probably 4+ GB/s speed.

6x master league achiever in starcraft2

Beaten Sigrun on God of war mode

Beaten DOOM ultra-nightmare with NO endless ammo-rune, 2x super shotgun and no decoys on ps4 pro.

1-0 against Grubby in Wc3 frozen throne ladder!!

Have to hope this part actually holds water and helps reduce game sizes: "If you look at a game like Marvel's Spider-Man," Cerny says, "there are some pieces of data duplicated 400 times on the hard drive." The SSD sweeps away the need for all that duping—so not only is its raw read speed dramatically faster than a hard drive, but it saves crucial space."

Because 1TB on my PS4 Pro already isn't cutting it with some games taking up 100gb+. But even if the SSD can significantly reduce game sizes it would be up to the developers to actually do it.

I dont get it if games would be smaller why use 100gb discs?
