Forums - Sales Discussion - What happened to software sales stats?

If I got it right, somebody with enough power decided not sharing information about software sales, not even restricted to physical releases. Where can we get that information? Is there any way?

I think is so relevant. I just hate not being able to analyze that.

As I understand it, it has become essentially impossible to get accurate info, so this site is no longer collecting it.

It certainly does suck, but it's just the way it is now. ^VAMatt pretty much hit the nail on the head.

As that information is valuable, I fear there might be other forces operating from the shadows.
A quick search lead me to https://newzoo.com/. And it's not the only site around.

Not exactly breaking news, but, yeah. It's a shame, and probably the main reason why the forum itself has been far less active. Less people coming here to check on game sales means less people engaging with the community.

That said, it doesn't really seem like something that can be fixed.

Real question is why don't they update the weekly charts with just hardware?

Information is hard to come by since they've decided to monetize the info to other corporates. That's harsh for the enthusiastic folks like us just wanting some good numbers and statistic about our passion ...

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.
