Nobody disagrees with that strict definition of sustainability. Nevertheless, I don't want video games to contain messages other than ones that add to their entertainment value.
Captain Planet from the 90's had a very "green" message of reuse, reduce, recycle and it 'made' it highly entertaining, just because there might be some underlying messaging that promotes sustainability, doesn't mean that a game is any less entertaining, people need to stop being offended over that insignificant stuff.
We should all strive towards sustainability, there is only a finite amount of resources, it's not political... It's just common sense.
Microsoft is aiming to make it's consoles Carbon Neutral going forward.
Amazon, Google, Facebook, Twitch, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and more are all jumping on the bandwagon.
It's something that everyone should get behind and support... Our Oceans are becoming more acidic and full of plastic, sea levels are rising, climate change is becoming an issue, mass-extinction on an unprecedented level and more... Something has to give at some point.
