How are you defining best? I'd put my experience in Witcher 3 over that of Dragon Quest XI for instance.

I think he meant it in the same way as "best Switch port", as in not that the game itself is necessarily the best, (as that's a matter of personal taste) but rather that of all the multiplats on Switch it has the most care and effort put into it.

For instance, I myself have no interest in the game whatsoever but I acknowledge that Square have done a really good job of making the Switch version worthwhile to those who do like this sort of thing, with all the extra content and the visual cutbacks not being that notable.

I agree that Xenoblade does not come across as a very polished game. I never finished the game, but would like to go back and do so sometime; I think I posted about my gripes with it's graphics back when it first came out.

As for DQXI, my vote is yes. In fact, DQXI is among my favorite games of all time. It was so recently that I finished my playthrough on PS4, so I don't know that the new additions on Switch will be enough to make me play it again just yet, but down the road, for sure.

The least polished parts of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 were mainly in the first 50-60% or so. The final chapters are a lot better, not a whole lot of these situations where you get to a point and wonder "So... am I supposed to find all the stuff I need to go through this door? Or is this optional?"

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Skyrim is a better game.

The Switch version is getting the special treatment, because Switch is most popular platform in Japan and it's going to stay that way until the Switch gets a successor. DQ 11 S is mostly made for a Japanese audience. I wouldn't be surprised if other games that are mostly made for the Japanese get their best version on Switch (or maybe just end up Switch exclusive). Maybe the next new Monster Hunter game will have the best version on the Switch (either that or will be a Switch exclusive).

God I so desperately want a proper post-World Monster Hunter game for Switch, it's a complete no-brainer, but I'm starting to lose hope it'll ever happen, Capcom seem to have this weird grudge against the Switch.

Considering how it's gonna be the best game on the system overall I'd wager yes.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

By "best multiplatform game" I mean best ported game. Like... the best constructed, optimized and beefy port on the system. If you read the OP instead of just the title or the poll, it get's pretty clear...

I also hope for a good Ni No Kuni Switch port, which will be released a week before DQ XI S. Played it on a friend's PS3. This game has such a lovely story and soundtrack.

Well, PS4 and PC are getting a remastered version with improved resolution, framerate and visuals... and the Switch is getting a straight port from PS3. So... it will still be a good game, but clearly not a very elaborated one.

I have three things to say.

1) Botw was a fantastic game.

2) Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was a fantastic game.

3) DQ looks to be a fantastic game.
