CUPHEAD: "Cuphead looks gorgeous, cannot wait for a Switch and PS4 port. Game Looks stunning."

BATTLETOADS: "This game looks like Garbage, Game looks like trash, God awful!"

...ok. Whats your point?

This is worth a read :

I basically agree with every point he makes.

I feel like thats not being fair to cuphead...

Also when people say "This game looks like Garbage, Game looks like trash, God awful!"  they arnt talking about the graphics (which admittedly most dont like), but the gameplay elements of it.

So their basically saying the gameplay of Battletoads looks "garbage".
That was not what people where saying about Cuphead, where its gameplay looks pretty good for the type of game it is.

Not sure why it doubled posted....

You don't see the double standards?

When someone says the game looks like garbage.. ugh how does that have anything to do with the gameplay especially when 99% of the people in this forum has yet to play BT2019? Or even yet to play an actual Battletoad game in the past? The demo testers at the show actually liked the short demo they played, so shall we go with there opinions or the people who have no interested in the game what's so ever?

Granted the "feel" of a game, when your actually playing it vs watching a video.... theres a differnce.
However you can still tell alot from watching gameplay. Right now, watching that 8-10m gameplay video, people are not likeing what they see.
Theres too many elements that feel "off" compaired to what a good beat'em up is (and compaired to what a Battletoads game is).
You dont need to play it to tell its gonna be bad, if it releases as is.

For starters, the heading of this thread stats (Looks God Awful) so clearly it has to be about how it looks.

So you can tell if a game is bad without even playing it? I will always disagree with this. Unless you actually play it for yourself you will never know. Also I mentioned the testers at E319 enjoyed the gameplay demo. So as much as people want to vote if a game is trash by there keyboard or to actually try it for themselves to know for sure, I leave my votes in pending until I try it for myself.

Also just wanted to add, people need to stop treating this game like some super budget AAA game. Its not, its an Indy game with MS's permission to be made.

I don't know if English is not your first language or if you just don't understand the colloquial usage of the word look.  "Looks" is frequently used as a shorthand for "Based on what I see, I anticipate it will be".

If I say "looks like rain"  I am saying "based on what I can observe I think there will be rain".  I am not saying that the sky literally looks like rain.  If my waiter brings me a steak and I say "oh that looks delicious", I am almost certainly not saying that the steak literally looks delicious, since it is impossible for something to somehow visually be delicious (unless you have synesthesia or something).  I almost certainly mean to say "based on what I can observe, I anticipate the steak will be delicious".  If I see a trailer of a movie and I say "looks boring", I am almost certainly not saying that the visuals of the movie are boring.  I am almost certainly saying "based on that trailer I anticipate the final product will be boring."  And when someone says "looks god awful" they are almost certainly saying "based on what I can tell, I anticipate this game will suck ass."

every time there was a tutorial message cleared a new one appeared for all 8 mins of this footage, also... you know the games pace is bad that 30 seconds into the video to show off the game the person is pressing start to try and skip the slow walking cutscene.

Looks honestly offensively bad, if this came from a tiny indie studio after a few months of work I would say something but this was a game which MS showed on stage at E3, and it looks like this.

First Microsoft killed Conker, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, and now BattleToads.

What's next, turning RC Pro-Am into the new Grand Theft Auto?

It is silly to blame MS for what devs make tho because MS gives them all the freedom.  Killer Instinct for an example was a huge succes and people love to omit it from their list when they hate on MS.

The original game wasn't very good. I don't know why people would have great expectations built from that baseline.

Mh, what could fans of a franchise expect from a new entry? To be faithful in art and style to the originals?

Btw. The original games. There was more than one.

Unless you're telling me that all the games came out on the same exact day, there is always an original game.
