Forums - Politics Discussion - Walmart stops advertising violent videogames, but not Guns.

Something i didn't understand...

New York(CNN Business)Walmart is taking down displays of violent video games in its stores in the wake of recent shootings. But the company plans to still sell the controversial video games -- and guns.

The change in policy does not apply to the sale or display of actual firearms. As the nation's largest retailer, Walmart is also one of the largest sellers of guns and ammunition in the world.

Guns dont kill people - violent video games do. ^^

So they wont show violent video games or movies anymore in walmart?

Dont they also sell guns and ammo? but thats fine?

"Walmart is also one of the largest sellers of guns and ammunition in the world."

Lmao..... gotta protect the innocent eyes of buyers from those evil video games.... would you like to buy a gun instead?

Your text says they are still selling violent video games though.

The thread title is wrong, they´re still selling them.

Title is incorrect and misleading, therefore I find this thread dumb.

And this isn't gonna do shit about mass shootings. -_-

Reminds me of an old MAD comic by Dave Berg:

Kaputnik goes to the supermarket (probably a Walmart btw), goes to the guns section and looks for an assault gun, and gets promptly served. Then he asks for the toy gun section for his little boy, to what the vendor tells him, that they got rid of it, because them things are apparently dangerous.

Replace Toy guns with videogames and we're at the exact same point as that comic was (which was from the 70's if I'm not mistaken).

Walmart has specifically not change their video game sales policies. They have simply changed their advertising policies for 2 weeks

Yeah. Not comfortable with what I said.
