Third year for each in this comparison. Switch is ahead even with no major game releases but the most surprising is how little Uncharted and DOOM moved PS4's in May.

Thanks for doing this, I know I told a few people I would do it again but havent been as active on here in the last few months.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Huh, maybe Switch is on pace to beat PS4 lifetime? Maybe? I'm not sure, I'm not exactly the best at predicting stuff like this hehe

I don't think so but maybe. IMO the switch is the best Nintendo console in a long time. I think the mobile & dock system is genius. Playing xenoblade at work during lunch and then coming home for longer sessions on the dock was so great.

Great work and subscribed!

Should be a pretty easy win for the Switch, in the US the PS4 peaked early in 2015 with 5.7M sales, and 2016 it only managed to sell 5.1M consoles. Switch sold 5.5M last year and it's up YoY right now, so I hardly see how it could loose this duel.

Yes!! Absolutely!! Xenoblade 2 is so fun, I had a blast with it! If the switch keeps it up with these big releases it wouldn't be hard to imagine at least 80 million(?)

Also very sorry if I replied wrong?? I'm still just learning how to use a forum haha

In the US, that's certainly possible. While the PS4 is doing well, it doesn't overwhelmingly so, as it's main market is Europe. PS4 sold about 29M consoles in the US so far, with a peak of 5.7M in 2015 but generally around 5-5.5M each year.

By contrast, Switch sold 5.5M consoles last year, 4.8M in it's launch year and is currently tracking ahead of last year, so it's certainly keeping up with the PS4 right now. Unless the Switch get's cut short or crashes in sales like the Wii did, it certainly has a shot at outselling the PS4 in the US.

Yeah I've noticed that sales in Europe aren't as good as the other countries, it's passed lifetime PS4 sales in Japan, right? Though if it has I'd assume it's because of the portable aspect since the Japanese market goes crazy for that. Thank you so much for the reply!

PS4 November 2016 numbers estimate should be around 1.2m. The 1.1m was the first leak which was confirmed to be off after one year.
