Well if FFIX ever get's the remaster treatment i will definitely give it a go.

It did.

It's available on pretty much all current systems.

Oh that's right i forgot ! wth is wrong with me, i think i wanted to say if it ever get's a physical release since i'm not a fan of digital but that's not happening. I have to check this one out and look at some gameplay vids.

FFX is in my bottom 3 FF games (along with FF8 and FF13). I did not like the music, or the linearity, and I did not like the overly anime-ish characters. And don't get me started on the laughing scene. However, the premise I do really like. The whole 10 year Sin cycle thing is really cool. Too bad it was wasted on a sub-par Final Fantasy game.

FF XII is the better game for me:
No anime characters or romantic plot.
Great combat system
Exploration and side content
Great Medieval setting with some sci-fi.
Plot is very political and characters are good. people dont like Vaan because is not a cool anime character, he is a commoner teen in a word in war. Him and Penelo are in the story to represent the common citizen in this situation. Ashe plot is what move the story.

FF X
Stereotypical anime characters (Tidus is your extrovert care free protagonist and Yuna the Shy, serious girl..of course they fall in love)
Linear progression (But with side quests)
Excellent turn battle combat system and character progression
Plot idea is really good, narrative and characters are mediocre.

All this is my personal opinion. FF XII is one of my 3 favorites games in the series, but FFX is a solid entry anyway.
to put things in perspective, my favorites final fantasy games are: 6 - tactics - 12 - 9 and 5

The Game is very linear, there doesn't exist an overworld map where you can travel Like in the FF Games before, but you would be Missing one of the best FF Stories ever made

FFX was the last good Final Fantasy game.

To me of course. Every single one since then has been crap to me. Crystal Chronicals, FFXI, XII(especially), XIII, XIV, XV. ALL stink!

I even bought XII at full price when it came out, because it was getting good reviews and I had loved all FFs up to X. It was the biggest regret of my life.

It took money, and time away from me that I'll never regain. I'd like to shoot Square Enix for it, to be quite honest. Lot's of bitterness around that. And I'm never buying an FF game again without trying it first.

NEVER.

When one person tells you it's boring and another tells you it's not...

It's a Final Fantasy game, all FF experiences are new ones and no matter what, the quality of the game in general is always outstanding. Just give it a go!

I hear ya .. FF is one divisive franchise for sure. I know i should definitely give it a go i would love to play all of FF games in time or at least try them out but i wanted to hear some opinions here first and it seems like that FFX is one of the most loved FF games out there.

It's amazing how divisive those opinions get. People telling you they hated X and loved XII, or 7 vs. IX... crazy. Your biggest obstacle might be going back to the single digit FF's. X and XII are still doable when it comes to graphics and gameplay but the earlier games are a whole different ballgame. That's going back to the PS1 era.

Personally I loved VI trough X, they all had their strengths and weaknesses but I played them in order (except for VI) in a different time. With XII, I was a little put off by the story and battlesystem at the time but had a blast re-playing it this year and getting the plat.

X has an amazing soundtrack, an interesting battlesystem (play on Active time battle) and a great story, of course this is just one opinion of many. I have played through the game 4 times and am considering a 5th, my most played FF to date. Whatever you decide, have fun!

Yeah i'm not sure about those single digit FF's i only have FFIII/VI on SNES mini and that will probaly be the only one i will finish from those really old ones.

And thanks ! hopefully i will have a fun time with X and XII.. first those two.

Having already been a huge FF fan by the time X released, my impressions of the game were pretty good. I remember being astounded by the amount of voice acting in the game. For me, at least, it was maybe the first full JRPG I played that was almost entirely voice-acted.

From a technical standpoint, the game/engine is quite a mess, but the story-telling is top-notch, especially for it's time.

Character progression is unique in that instead of gaining levels in the traditional sense, you'll gain "sphere levels", similar to the system in FF13. Most modern RPGs are a push-over, but this one is has a decent amount of difficulty, such that you can't faceroll through the game, and you'll need to pay attention to your gear and character builds.

It's fun and cheap; I recommend it.

Have you also not played FFIX?

It's amazing, a masterpiece like XII but in a completely different style.

FFIX is full old classic JRPG style done perfectly.

Forget X, get IX.

Nope haven't played it but i plan to one day.. it's just a little tricky with that one cause the remaster isn't so hot, that's how i heard at least. Blurry backgrounds, only available digitally is kinda a turn off and i know there are mods on Pc but since i don't play on Pc and don't buy games there it's not gonna feel authentic to me.

I would recommend FFX to anyone who likes JRPGs.  It really is a must play game.  Actually I would say that several Final Fantasy games are must plays: 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12 are all must plays.  I highly recommend them all.  FF X is probably my third favorite after 7 and 9.

Here are the things that I really remember loving about FFX:

1)  The characters.  Even the characters I didn't like at first grew on me.  And then there are characters like Auron.  He is so badass that it is worth playing through the game to see what happens with him.  Also I love that they sometimes say little things during battle.  It was a nice touch.

2)  The battle system.  Every character really does have a unique role and part of the battles are using the right character for the situation and part are just choosing which characters you want to use.  It's a great system.

3) Music.  The soundtrack to this game is phenomenal.

4) The story.  There are a few cringy parts, and there are also some confusing parts.  But mostly the story of the game really sucked me in and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

5) Blitzball.  I know not everyone liked this (mostly optional) minigame, but I really loved it.  I remember playing a lot of blitzball.

Also the game is just really well paced and crafted.  I know it is a linear game, but I don't really remembering that bothering me.  In contrast FF13 is really linear for the first 20 hours and that irritated the hell out of me.  Somehow in FFX they hide the linearity enough that it wasn't really a problem.  Also, like most FF games, there is a mixture of fantasy and tech in FFX.  You can watch the opening cutscenes of the game for 5-10 minutes to see there is tech in the game.  It's just that some places and characters are comfortable with tech and others are not.
