The US is really turning into an Idiocracy!

The question: have the stupids already out-populated the intelligent?

That’s how the theory worked in the documentary at least.

How?

A little bit hypocritical for Trump to engage in political correctness, then again... He was never above being hypocritical anyway.

I guess this is just to pull against the heart strings of the patriotic 'Murican... Still... What a silly rename.

I'm hoping they rebrand fatness to freedom weight. Did you put on your freedom weight today? Fuck yeah

Do you know why "energy independence" is important? It is because if someone is supplying you with something critical, they have some degree of power over you. You can't piss off the people who provide your energy because that means that they have the power to stop providing that energy, which would have hugely detrimental consequences. It is a large part of the reason why the US is largely handicapped from taking actions against Saudi Arabia.

Similarly, if the US is able to establish a dominance in terms of energy supply in Europe, that means they will be able to exert influence on them which is especially relevant given the recent trade spats between the EU and the US.

Freedom Gas*

* Freedom Gas may inhibit freedom in distant future

But Trump wasn't behind these renamings. Sounds to me like it was the Department of Energy.

Nothing wrong with having multiple energy sources. Actually, it's better to have more than one source.

The Department of Energy is a cabinet level department of the United States Government... From there it is under direct control and supervision of the United States Secretary of Energy... Which is appointed by... You guessed it. Donald Trump.

So you can bet your ass that Trump certainly has an influence.

So at what point did Trump influence "freedom gas" and "molecules of freedom"? "Freedom gas" seems to have been prompted by a reporter:

"Freedom gas. It appears that turn of phrase originated earlier this month, when Secretary of Energy Rick Perry signed an order aimed at doubling U.S. liquefied natural gas shipments to Europe. At a press briefing in Brussels, he explained that the move would help European nations diversify their energy supply away from Russia, the region’s major supplier of gas. “The United States is again delivering a form of freedom to the European continent,” he said. “And rather than in the form of young American soldiers, it’s in the form of liquefied natural gas.” Afterward, a cheeky reporter from EURACTIV asked whether “freedom gas” would be a correct way to describe the new fuel shipments. “I think you may be correct in your observation,” an apparently inspired Perry responded."

Of course "Freedom gas" is going to be a terminology that catches on when you assert that you are providing freedom via gas. (Europe is pretty free anyway, meaning that statement was entirely unnecessary to begin with.)

Taking an apologetic perspective on this isn't really isn't helping either way. It's political correctness and the Trump administration is using it to it's advantage to rally it's patriotic fan base.
Aka. It's hypocritical.

As an Australian, I do rather enjoy the free entertainment that Trump has brought to the table since gaining power, it's been highly amusing... Definitely been an ongoing joke on the world stage that's for sure. - Still wish him the best of success of course... But when he (Or his administration for that matter!) is being  hypocritical or there are screws up, you need to call it out for what it is.

More so than America in many places.
