Nintendo E3 Predictions/Wishlist

Nintendo has started and ended the last two directs with a brand new game, but I don't think they will do that this time. I think Animal crossing will start off the direct, and if Retro has a new game that isn't MP4, that will end it.

This happens every year, and it always ends badly.

I have no expectations, and I don't think you should either

It always ends badly ?

This is how it ended in 2017:

And in 2018:

2 of the best games of the Switch. How does it always end badly ?

They didn't end with muh GameCube ports. Cater to my childhood nostalgia or you're dead to me, Nintendo.

Quite a impressive list, I doubt Nintendo will announce any of there games in the Treehouse portion though. I know they have in the past, but those were 3DS and games that just never released.

For my prediction

  • start off with some sort of sizzle real with some "cool" and "hip" people playing the switch on a boat or on a roof. You know like we all do. This shows a few third party games, as well as hint of whats to some in E3.
  • trailer for Animal crossing showing off teraforming and world building abilities.November 2019
  • reminder trailer for Fire Emblem three houses
  • trailer for Luigi Mansion 3 show new ways to catch ghost, along with announcement of a huge online mode. October 2019
  • Trailer for a new Kirby game, 2020
  • DxM what's changed trailer, August 2019
  • Mario Maker reminder trailer, June 2019
  • Pokemon trailer, showing new pokemon and extended look at the world, November 2019
  • trailer for Link Awakening showing new content and new features being added, December 2019
  • Bayo 3 story and new gameplay tease trailer, 2020
  • Story and gameplay trailer for Astral Chain, September 2019
  • Surprise Bethesda Third party port of Fall Out 4, November 2019
  • reminder short trailer for Marvel Ultimate alliance 3
  • Indie reel
  • third party reel
  • Nintendo announced that SNES emulator for switch, tease that there will be more to come.
  • Bowser or someone closing statement, but we got 1 more surprise for you
  • Retro new amazing game is shown. It blows all our socks off and we sit there and cry in excitement. first half of 2020

something like that is my prediction

Check out my lastest games review: Fast RMX and  Snipperclips: Cut it out Together

I feel like E3 is the last chance for Retro to announce a game they supposedely were working before metroid

If nothing is announced, then I think its safe to assume that they did shit for the past 5 years, and everything they were working on was cancelled.

in short i'm wishing for a plethora of AAA scope single player games like breath of the wild, mario odyssey or darksiders 3 in hopes that i'll find some games i'm really in to. preferably open world. What i'm expecting is simply not that. I predict we'll get info an games already announced and 1 or 2 new games that are fairly outdated. A new $60 2d platformer that may look better than most of the games on the eshop, but don't hold the same vallue (i take hollow knight for $15 over the $60 dollar kirby/yoshi/dk any day), or maybe a new $60 on rails star fox game. It's def more fun to wish so i'll be a little more engaging on that. Way more unrealistic though;
-Dark siders 3 on switch coming march of 2020 which now completes the series thus far on switch.
-New star fox that combines ghost recon wildlands and starlink. Its a 4 player 3rd person co-op shooter in the vain of ghost recon wildlands. Still can be played single player and internet is not required. Vehicles are obviously more star fox themed and upgrading vehicles happens by scavenging parts from space pirate fights. Those fights occur in space while traveling between the planets you must liberate just like starlink. The liberation missions are the wildlands part of that wasn't obvious.
-New kid icarus that's set in an open world setting like breath of the wild, but with the sky villages of skyward sword. Very much plays like a zelda or metroid with places to explore and new items to aquire.
-New sonic game in the style of mario odyssey. Sega announces that it has contracted the guys behind the sonic hero and sonic utopia fan projects from youtube to consult. Great day for indie gaming and great day for sega's PR. I'll be just a little more selfish and say the story is based on the sonic cartoon/comic from the 90's. Not the funny one with the chicken and dozer, but the darker one with the freedom fighters and Sally.
-Nintendo goes halloween CRAZY (my fav holiday) and announces that there will be a new release every week in october leading up to luigi's mansion on oct 25th. The month will start off with fatal frame 4HD. Physical release and released for the 1st time in the US on oct 4th. Oct 11th sees the release of eternal darkness on the eshop for $30. on Oct 18th, fatal frame V releases physically for the 1st time in the US. And as mentioned, luigi's mansion releases on oct 25th seeing a return to it's sandbox form of the original.
-Yokai watch 4 gets announced for early december as a thought to be second tier title released between animal crossing and pokemon... 2 games i have 0 interest in. New yokai battle system looks much more interesting. Finally the obligatory 3rd party sizzle real reveals actual AAA games like biomutant and other newly announced games are coming to the switch day and date. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that's it finally. I'm tuckered out, but that was fun. Almost carthardic. :) thanks op. Also, sorry for the probable wall of text. Seems like when i format with paragraphs they never show up in the post. Guess i'm ignorant to something posting wise.

i should clarify that the switch has some games i'm looking forward to. Particularly luigi's mansion and astral chain. They just seem to be severely lacking in large scope/open world single player adventures. Really too bad about metroid.

Nintendo: Pokemon info blowout. Reminder that SMM2 is coming out this month. pls buy Smash DLC. Animal Crossing trailer. They will tease something that will drive everyone crazy, probably BotW2.

Third parties: GTAV and Kingdom Hearts... nah, that makes too much sense. We'll get Bully Remastered and a late port of that Secret of Mana remake that should have been on Switch day one.
Somehow there is a solid 40% chance that FIFA 20 is a legacy edition, and we won't know until it comes out.
Everyone will walk away once again thinking Ubisoft is a good supporter of the Switch when they announced 0 new games.

I'm feeling some real kinship in your cynicism XD. nice. Who knows.  Maybe 2020 will be the year we keep hoping for :)

LOL thank you!

oh! i forgot my biggest wish! The rumored dead game nintendo is reviving is revealed to be the cancelled starcraft ghost game from the gamecube era. Coming This holiday! I'm pretty sure if that happened i would become more frantic excitement than when they announced that PT was the next silent hill game. Which is ironic given that those two games brought me more heartbreak on a gamer level than any other cancellation or non-localization ever.
