I'm not expecting any big new game announcements, we have a lot scheduled later this year already. What I do expect is a few games unexpectedly "available now" at E3. Remember, last year Fortnite, Hollow Knight, Paladins and the Splatoon 2 DLC all released on Switch during E3, and I believe none were expected to release at that time. Looking at the list of upcoming game releases on Switch, there's a pretty noticeable gap June 10-14 right now.

So what games have been announced but don't have solid release dates yet and could potentially drop at E3? OP mentioned Cadence of Hyrule, and I agree that's a good candidate. Any others? Maybe the next Smash challenger pack character is announced and released immediately?

I’m actually expecting them to unveil two DLC packs for Smash and one will be available after the Direct and the other at the end of summer.

That's interesting.  I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this.  Would it be out of the realm of possibility that they put a Marvel character in Smash to help hype MUA?

That’s a possibility, but I’m not expecting this to happen.

All I really care about is Animal Crossing. I really hope it has a great hook.

Anything Metroid related would make me happy, as long as it's not Federation Force related.

Super Nintendo games on the online service would make my day.

I hope that no game gets too much time. I hope this Direct isn't a showcase for Fire Emblem or Pokemon.

I hope Doug Bowser can match Reggie's exuberance and style.

I hope there is Retro game ready to show, and I hope that if Miyamoto shows anything it's Pikmin 4 and not something super cringy that reminds us that he should continue overseeing projects but not leading them.

This happens every year, and it always ends badly.

I have no expectations, and I don't think you should either

Even if you dont type it out. You will eventually think and imagine what e3 would be like in your imagination.

This is an odd year where Nintendo can go either way on big announcements. On one hand, they've got to do a blowout on Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and Luigi's Mansion. Between those three, they could easily knock out 25 minutes.

My guess is that this E3 mostly focuses on this year and the first half of 2020. So I'll go with two mid-tier announcements for next year and the announcement of another partnership with a 3rd party for one more big game.

I dont think they will go full on detailed for the big games. I expect FE, Pokemon and AC to have its own direct 1 - 2months before it gets released.

Nintendo will announce that Pokemon SwSh is the last pokemon game made by gamefreak and that the pokemon games will now be handled by Bethesda.
What, let me dream!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

......Shore, you are aware of FO76 right?

Or even without that, I don't want my Flygon's flying backwards.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?
