That's Koei Tecmo for ya. They lead in expensive pointless DLC. Do I have to remind you that every piece of DLC in Dead or Alive 5 amounted to $1500?

If I had to guess, their strategy isn't to sell to as many people as possible. It's to squeeze as much money as they can from the few serious fans who play it. (It's the same strategy you'll see in many mobile games.) I couldn't imagine spending more than $5 on the game itself, much less DLC, but I'm sure there are those who love to collect all the cute costumes and dress up all the characters.

My niche is stories like Made In Abyss, and I can't resist collecting all the books, concept artbooks, and dvds of it I can. Similar thing, I bet.

The same company showed that they can do it differently with the Fire Emblem Warriors DLC. A €20 season pass contained three packs, each one with three characters, various new perks for weapons and three history maps that added about ~20 hours of gameplay. But maybe that's because it was a collaboration with Nintendo.

Yes. That's totally why.

Absolutely.

It is not a coincidence that the Atelier series became heavily focused around a mostly female cast. They notes from Compile Heart.

How much does the DLC cost for DW games? I only know of the prices for the Nintendo-themed ones and those are good.

Well, looking at DW9 on Steam, costumes go for ¥324,weapons for ¥432 & scenarios for ¥648

Pretty ridiculous how much there is actually. It's even got 3 separate season passes :O

Yeah but the season passes have all or almost all the content like additional stories/stories.  Not sure if it is better but in the past they launched an extreme/ultimate whatever version that includes everything again for 60$

WTF, I think not even the DLC for Tales of games is as pricey.

Anyway, I've actually never bought DLC for any game :P My first DLC will be Kingdom Hearts 3's and I'll also get Breath of the Wild's whenever I get to play the game.

The xtreme/ultimate editions don't include everything though. The "complete" edition of DW8 still has ¥19214 worth of DLC in addition to the base game price of ¥8424

Oh =p  Well I care 'mostly' for extra stages/stories/characters =p    Guess we are in luck WO 4 only got one season pass.

Persona R probably get some season passes =p.

It's ridiculous. Why buy Atelier DLC when there is perfectly good Death End Re;Quest DLC?
