on youtube, the video's title changed to "Not a scam"

That is pretty funny that the title changed.

Even if it does come out sometime, it is still a scam. The game was supposed to launch 5 years ago. A delay of a few months, maybe even a year or two, could be considered a normal part of game development. But, running 5 years over a deadline is not normal. It means that they lied in the initial pitch, and lied about that lie over and over again. They clearly didn't have the ability to deliver the game, but continually claimed that they would do so.

From what I've been seeing the past few months, it actually looks like it's progressing rather well.

I'm especially loving how insanely huge that space port city is.

That being said, I don't see it as a scam, not until it reaches a point where zero progression is made, and everything is literally made up excuses, debunked by fellow members of staff (which we see as being common within this industry, in regards to crunch time reports).

I'm still patient to wait for the single player version of the game. I do have to wonder though, as to when both versions come out, will those constantly shitting on the game eat crow for the next 8 years? (not even a question, because on, no one would ever admit that they've been acting like a nonce for 8 straight years, and it's sad that no one could be held to that).

We've got into this discussion before and I see know bemifet of bringing it up again but Chazore lad, why do you give them so much lee way when they shit on your 50 dollars, They have pissed your money to the wind in massive and useless marketing campaigns while they sluggishly and clumisly draw out the development of the game.

Have we?. I don't remember you and me taking specifically about SC.

Why do I give them leeway?. Why do you lads give anyone leeway at all?. This isn't some special case, where these guys take 8 years to craft a few worlds, all by hand, rather than relying on procedural generation and calling it some stellar work of art (I remember the NMS hype and the comparisons to SC as well).

Why does anyone give leeway to a company that's earned more money than SC in it's entirety, and trying to buy up devs for exclusivity to it's own storefront, while also buying a studio recently, and all while they ruse to pump a few mil into R&D for their own storefront, but people like to mutter "give it time".

SO if they are allowed to back a multi million dollar company, that's earned billions, then why can't I wait for a game that's doing something no one else wants to bother with?.

Like, if it ever were to reach such a point, where it comes to a crawl, and hardly any progress is made, and excuses come out left and right, to a point where we see more excuses than progress, then I'll know the game is dead and dusted. Until then, it's just another game in it's early access phase, like every other indie game that's still in early access on Steam, that might I add, still come out lacking polish, despite their backings (And yes, I will always be there to tear a dev's ass when they don't polish their work, despite all the backing they get).

I tell you what though, they've not pissed any of my money, because I've not backed a single pound into it. I've just been sitting here over the years, casually glancing back to see what sort of progress has been made to the game. In fact, I've very little reason to financially back anything within this industry, because 1) I know someone else will do it, and 2) I know that most of the time the project can turn into a crapfest or not what was originally envisioned.

Have you actually kept up with any of the game's news and dev process?. DO you even know the sheer scope of how the game is being crafted?. If  you or those guys on the vid don't even once flinch at the size of their flow chart (because let's be honest here, brutally, who the fuck has a flow chart that insanely large for a game's mechanics/dev processes and staff roles?), then I'd tell you to look again, because it's something else.

That being said, why do you guys need to rag on this game every few months?.This has been a done and dusted show for the past 5-6 years now. Like I guarantee you that anyone talking smack about Death Stranding taking it's eternity, will be defended without question, especially with ye old "except that game's coming out", despite the fact that it's taken it's sweet arse time, and despite all it's backing and the team behind it all.

I can't speak for Chazore, but my "investment" in Star Citizen + Squadron 42 were €24 in total (so €12 for the chance of a new AAA solo game and €12 for the chance of a new AAA MMO without further subscription fees). For that money I can't even get 2 movie tickets or 2 new DVDs/Blu-rays. It's the price of 2 new indie games or a few months of PS+ /XBL Gold.

Even if the two games are never finished (or are getting finished but suck), I already had a lot of enjoyable hours watching the progress of a huge game development and trying out the playable modules for these €24. In a worst case scenario (game development stops) we would probably at least get several hours of cutscenes in this quality:

Of course I would prefer if both games get finished and turn out to be great, but even in this worst case scenario my €24 wouldn't have been wasted, since I got dozens of enjoyable hours out of it (playable alpha versions, hours of cut scenes, an orchestral soundtrack, hundreds of interesting development videos & podcasts and years of entertaining drama in internet forums).

Twice before, if memory serves and it ended in the same fight. Pretty sure one of us got moderated too but not directly to our debate.

Honestly, I canne remember either of those times in all honesty. At this point, I'm not even made at seeing this topic cropping up again. I'm just sad that one group, who doesn't want to get involved or interested with the game and how it's being made, what it's trying to achieve, as going against all it can and will do, simply based on the fact that it's taking that bit more time than the average AAA game takes to make. I mean, wasn't RDR 2 8 years in the making?. Even that game is only doing an amazingly tiny amount of what SC is trying to accomplish.

I pledged $35 in November 2012.
Kickstarter stats (today) are 34,397 backers pledged $2,134,374, average $62 per backer.
Since then they raised many many more millions on selling DLC you can't use yet lol.
I haven't bothered trying it out yet, not worth wasting my bandwidth on buggy alpha code.

I also backed Elite Dangerous for 20 pounds. Played that for the better part of a year, then again when Horizons update came out (which I bought), and again this year to see all the extra updates they made. I've been playing it on and off for 5 years now.

I've already written the game off years ago. Not because it's taking so long to be finished. That's fine. But because they are selling ship packages for hundreds or thousands of dollars. Ships for a game that isn't finished. For a digital product. It costs them $0 to send you a ship in the game. This is absurd and unprecedented. It would be as if an MMO started selling staffs, and swords for hundreds of dollars. Do people realize these are digital items?

The game could get glowing reviews and it wouldn't matter to me. Any game with this level of greed is bound to be zero fun.
