Forums - Gaming Discussion - Borderlands 3- Full Skill Trees leak for Zane, one of the 4 playable characters

What we learned from the leak:

-Each character has 3 different action skills now instead of a single action skill in previous games.

-You can equip 2 action skills at once

-There is one action skill per skill tree

-Zane's 3 Skill Trees are called Under Cover, Hitman, and Doubled Agent. Under Cover is more of a Defensive skill tree, Hitman is more of a run and gun damage dealer tree, Doubled Agent is also a damage dealer skill tree but is more focused on grenades

-Zane's 3 action skills are a shield that blocks enemy fire but allows Zane and his teammates to fire through it, a drone that hovers around shooting enemies, and a Digi-copy clone of Zane that distracts and damages enemies

-There are action skill augments within the skill trees now. You get 2 augment slots per action skill. These augments provide useful effects like a rocket launcher for the drone and 360 degree coverage for the shield

ugh, sounds like he's not my kind of character at all. Don't like stealthy style characters. That kind of sucks since he's probably the best looking one.

That leaves Moze as the only character I'm interested in then. Couldn't care less about Amara since melee characters are boring in Borderlands and FL4K looks rubbish.

Really hope they add some good DLC characters. Gaige was fantastic in BL2, my favourite BL character actually!

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

I would say that only one of the 3 skill trees is stealthy, Doubled Agent. Hitman seems to be a run and gun tree with lots of damage boosting skills and a high damage drone for the action skill. Under Dover seems like more of a tank tree, with lots of defensive skills and an action skill that has you staying in one place hiding behind your shield. I'm actually very interested in his Hitman skill tree, so he is still an option for me.

I agree about Amara though, not interested in her at all. She feels very samey, 2 of her 3 skill trees feel alot like the previous 2 Siren's, Lilith and Maya. The 3rd is very melee focused and I'm not a fan of playing melee characters in Borderlands. I agree with you that Gaige was the best character in Borderlands 2. Speaking of DLC characters, there is a rumor that Fiona from Tales from the Borderlands will be a DLC playable character, since she became a Vault Hunter during Tales.

We got some more new Zane info at the gameplay reveal today:

-He is the only character that can use more than 1 action skill at once.
-He is Irish and has a thick Irish accent.
-He went to the same Assassin School as Zer0 from Borderlands 2.

Obviously gonna have to play the game to know for sure, but this seems like an inherently bad idea on paper. Getting to use two abilities instead of one could easily make him OP compared to the other characters. Just having a quick look at his skill trees, there's a ton of synergy there, and I very much doubt his individual abilities on their own are very much weaker than those given to the other characters. Why would I wanna use a character that limits me to one ability, when I can use a guy who gets two?

Cool new additions, probably not my main, though. But it's a good sign that probably the most boring character of the 4 still has 3 pretty interesting builds.

Yeah, people are already saying that Zane is going to be Borderlands 3's OP character, like Salvador in Borderlands 2 and Nisha in Borderlands The Pre-Sequel. Not only can he use 2 action skills at once, but he has some very good skills in his trees:

-A skill that activates all kill skills at once whenever you use one of the 2 action skills, with a capstone skill on the Hitman tree that boosts the effect and duration of all kill skills.

-Here are some of his possible kill skills that the above will affect: Increased reload speed, increased movement speed (can be combined with a skill that increases gun damage the faster you are moving), Life Steal on his gun, next 5 shots have a chance to fire a bonus projectile, increased fire rate, increased action skill duration, all elemental damage taken converted to non-elemental damage with a non-elemental damage resistance percentage, increased gun damage and health regen, and grenade regeneration.

-His defensive skill tree have some very good tanky skills and the shield can block alot of damage.

-His clone skill tree has alot of grenade boosting skills and skills that throw free grenades and regen grenades. People are spculating that his legendary class mod will have grenade regen on it as well, if true it will allow him to spam grenades frequently.

-He has alot of Cryo damage skills and Cryo is one of the best elements in Borderlands.
