You gave A Link to the Past a 78 but Skyward Sword a 98?

Okayyyyy...

He gave Ocarina 3D 74 I will assume he played these games late.

A Link to the Past I played many times as a kid/teenager. OoT 3d I played and beat for the first time on the 3ds, so I was clear that I was reviewing the 3ds version. I have yet to review the 64 version and probably won't as I hate the 64 controller so much. I review thinking about the times the games released in for their scores, not compared to modern games as that would be unfair.

I can tell Dulfite started on the Zelda series during the Gamecube era. That or he started with the Zelda games of the 2000s. Seeing Skyward Sword so far above A Link to The Past is painful but an opinion I guess. Honestly, the two franchises for me are kinda close.

Final Fantasy IV, V and VI are all amazing and should be played.

Final Fantasy VII should be played as well. It is not as good as the SNES trilogy but it is definitely just a bit below it.
The NES Final Fantasy games are all over the place.
I is amazing if you like NES RPGs. II is not worth playing. III is good but nothing special.

Final Fantasy IX is good but nothing special. I haven't played VIII yet since the darn game requires me to buy new hardware and the PC version is broken.

I started with A Link to the Past actually on the SNES. Then, I think, my second game was Oracle of Ages/Seasons. I didn't really play OoT as a kid (I find it kind of scary) so I kind of stopped playing Zelda games until Twilight Princess came out and got re-interested in the series. As I explained earlier, and I think I have an article on it I should just link, SS had the best story of any Zelda game to me as I love backstory and origins.

Yeah I'm not sure I will play FF 1 and 2 as I've heard they are hard to like, similarly, I can't ever play the first couple Zelda games either as I can't stand NES games. SNES games are gems, though!

If it wasn't for Breath of the Wild I would have choose FF.

Although, when I'm talking about FF, I'm only mentioning FF-X and previous games since those are the ones worked by Squaresoft.

So FF11-15 aren't worth playing in your view? I am hoping to play them all, but I want to look forward to it haha.

In 1998 OoT was a 10...that was mind blowing then set many standards. But indeed if story telling is most important to you I can see how you will find FF superior, that said OoT 3D was a 9.5 to me.  Then again if you feel Ocarina 3d  was a 74 I guess everyone has their reasons.

A Link to the Past IMO was 9.0-9.5 game...it was really excellent. I seen a bit of hate here for Zelda II lol I liked Zelda 2.

FF wins easily. Playing FFVIII and FFX makes any new FF an automatic buy for me regardless of how bad it is or looks. Even if FFXVI has a .00001% chance of replicating the brilliance, I will still buy it. Some would say that makes me a fanboy of the series, but even so I can still say that FFXIII was a terrible game :P.

I did enjoy Zelda quite a bit, especially Majora's Mask, but it didn't change my life like how FF did.

Is MM's your go to Zelda game? HOW?! I get soooo frustrated at that game, and I play the 3ds version which is probably easier than the 64 one. It annoys me I haven't beaten it yet haha.

Atmosphere and gameplay is top notch imo, and the world is really well made.

MM is special...I played it at  release  and enjoyed it

As much as Ocarina. The three day cycle remains unique to this day.

It was also the darkest Zelda, along with TP. It was a tough game but I didn't have problem with it .Back in HS I had all the time in the world lol

I stopped reading the Ocarina 3D review at the line "the ps1-2 had better graphic capabilities than the N64 or Gamecube ever had".

Strong statements indeed considering both are false. The N64 was the better machine in terms of pure rendering power. It's only hindrance was the cartridge format. But Zelda couldn't be done on PS1, not Mario 64 for that matter. In terms of 3-D rendering capabilities, it wasn't until the Dreamcast that the N64 was surpassed. At least console wise. The GameCube was also a bit more powerful than the PS2. RE4 took a noticeable downgrade in graphical quality when it was ported over to the PS2. Metroid Prime would have been impossible to run on PS2 hardware at that type of quality and frame rate.
