They want to sound like a professional?
I know what price point means, or meant because now suddenly instead of price everyone on tech sites, forums, youtube etc. says price point, it is a new sickness.
There are basically to reasons to use jargon.
- Everyone understands the jargon, so you use it to make it simple to understand what you mean.
- You want to sound clever.

maybe because the teenagers on those sites have finally grown up into adults and want to sound like an adult.
You know developers/publishers throw out buzzwords every generation that forum goers repeat like a child learning a new word.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
