Forums - General Discussion - Popular Twitch speedrunner banned for "leaking" the N-Word

Correction, you were upset by a label.

The n-word has found a neutral use culturally. I know you don't like it, too bad. Again, you call me an advocate of the n-word. I'm less than that, I'm neutral. I would warn a kid not to use the n-word because it could upset people, but I wouldn't argue people being upset is logical.

Again, an ethnic person's potential use of violence becomes an example of what we should be allowed to do or say. People like you make me look like Jesus. I don't necessarily have to use a racial slur to get a fight started by way, I could also say, "YOU FUCKING CUNT!"

I love your over simplification of history. Freedom is responsible for so many problems. With logic like that I can see how tyrants attain power.

Lastly, free healthcare is not freedom. Free stuff in general in not freedom. Libya was more stable with a tyrant, now Libya is what seems to happen to countries with Islam and no tyrant. I'm not attacking Islamic people per se, just what seems to become of their countries from example after example.

Actually you were upset hence why started labeling people and a mod issued a warning.

It hasn't found any neutral use that's the point it only has ignorant use which is why people get pulled over it when it's used use it.

No people like me point out your flawed thinking you think you look like Jesus because of how you see yourself it's a common theme in your mentality in all your arguments this is also another part where you've side stepped the point as you have no counter, the irony here is you saying you could do the same by using a serious insult is you admitting my point on the word.

Funny you mention tyrants as guess who went around the world taking over places? The western countries where your vision of freedom comes from, this further highlights what I mean such cases were going on for centuries it's not a simplified history it's actual history.

Libyans had more freedom in their lives than Americans and a better quality of life that's the point and it's an Islamic country, the region only went to chaos when outside entities removed the stable element to insert their own notion of freedom which is similar to what you're pushing. The are many other Islamic countries where the is such stability you making a sweeping statement about them is not only disturbing but ignorant the are many Christians countries where the are serious problems such as Venezuela in fact the country US has had a long running problem with is a Christian one in Russia while the recent US clash is with China a mainly Atheist country, if were were to go by examples and use you mode of thinking it would not paint a good image of christian Countries in general.

Well we're WAY off topic and we'll agree to disagree.

Ultimately, the n-word will continue to be used neutrally and Libya is a disaster due to overwhelming freedom as you suggested. But on a side note Gaddafi was a big fan of Sharia law, so yeah... Libya was certainly the epitome of freedom. Some things have stayed the same because that's just the culture of Libya. History is not on your side even if I can agree Libya was better under a tyrant.

The majority of people in this thread have never seen Pulp Fiction or listened to rap music from Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, or Wu Tang Clan. Nor do they understand how language works. A word can be extremely powerful and offensive and it can mean something entirely different depending on context. The N-word is very offensive in many cases, but not offensive at all in others. Anyone denying this is more concerned with being morally superior than actually contributing against racism.

"Anyone denying this is more concerned with being morally superior than actually contributing against racism."

but that's what many of the progressive crowd are aren't they? a bunch of people more concerned with social points they are mining from showing off their virtue than actually living out their values and obviously that leads to inconsistency which leads to insanity because nothing being said is grounded in anything practical

its how you get communists on computers accessing the internet to preach about how capitalism needs to end and all private property must be abolished... I can think of at least 3 separate inconsistencies there but it is what it is

I've been using the word my whole life and I will continue to do so in private conversations. I know the definition of racism and I know I am not a racist. Words mean nothing without context.

And the fact that some words are not allowed to be spoken even outside of their context is inherently wrong. It's despicable and narrow minded.

May be the first time i've seen that "I'm not a racist" not be immediately followed by "I have a black friend".

"It's despicable and narrow minded." - How ironic...

Weird response, no actual points were made. Its like you just wanted to show you disagree and you're morally superior but no substance.

Just to mix it up I say, "I have black friends but I'm incredibly racist."

The point is that the definition of racism or any -isms for that matter is a true believe in the inferiority of a race, gender or whatever and the intent of disparaging said race, gender or whatever.

That means it is absolutely impossible to be "accidentally racist". I don't believe a race is inferior and I don't intent to disparage them, therefore I am not racist no matter how often I use "naughty words". I may be an asshole by deliberately offending some people but I'm certainly not racist. And if it is truly a mistake then I'm not even an asshole. Then again, i would only be called an asshole by people who desperately want to be offended so it doesn't really matter either way. I'm just a poor schmuck who lives in a society that doesn't know how to spell "intent" or "context" and would rather witch hunt people to death before doing a tiny bit of self reflection.

In my experience, most people who use that word when playing video games use it because they are looking for the most offensive and repugnant word to use in order to vent their frustration, not because they are racist.

If you were decent woke person, the n-word wouldn't be in your vocabulary. Just even thinking of using that word means you're a white nationalist.

I can't tell if you're being sincere or facetious.
